Ali's and Louis' life stories are interesting. All the shit they had to go through to achieve what they achieved. If you watch the movie's it's not all about boxing. It's about all the shit they went through outside of the ring.

And you obviously use the outdated "oppressed black man" image to your advantage.

Robinson? I don't think moviegoers want to watch a boxer beat his wife so often and badly that he causes her to have 5 miscarrages. Go watch s snuff film or somthing if thats your thing.

mickey's story goes beyond boxing, remember, or you might be too young to remember, but his brother ****ie was a crackhead, former crackhead, and was on one of the first HBO documentaries about drugs and downtrodden life.

****ie had a small bit of fame about him ,regionally, and the interests followed from there. but it wasn't until mickey started having a in your face career and people started remembering his brother ****ie when mickey was getting noticed. then to train mickey and his roller coaster ride of a career, the two together had a hollywood type story.

i'm not saying others shouldn't have a movie and that this is the best story, but it's a story of triumph from a mid-low class of blue collar worker to raise above all the crap and distractions to come out of boxing unharmed and better for it from going through the battles and struggles of boxing and a hard life.

it's worthy, and it's a motivational type moving, that is why it got the green light to be made...............

sad to say, but mickey ward a lot of people, no matter what color they are, can relate to this story, thats why it was made..............

and for the record, i HATE AND HATED CHUCK WEPNER, but Rocky movies were awesome........

How can you make a Micky Ward biopic without the Gatti fights? His career and life's story, to a large extent, are defined by those fights...
