Who will be remembered as the greater fighter: Manny Pacquiao or Floyd Mayweather?

As Teddy Atlas would say, you're lying to yourself. You consistantly let your hatred of Floyd blind you to the fact Floyds resume is at least as good as Pacs and there are not many who honestly believe Pac would have won H2H. Pac is a great fighter to be sure, but Floyd is the better/greater fighterComment

Legends always put their legacy on the line to prove greatness. As Teddy Atlas would say, you're lying to yourself. Manny has done that his entire career. Floyd hasn't.
End of thread.Comment

Even with the losses, Pacquiaio will easily be remembered as the better boxer. He will be more remembered among the greats to who fought anyone that was around and was considered the best. Floyd, not so much.Comment

Floyd puts his legacy on the line everytime he fights. What are you talking about?
I guess Pac gets more credit for putting his legacy on the line against the likes of David Diaz, but Floyd gets zero credit for fighting undefeated fighters like Corrales and Hatton?
You're right, that nonsensical train of thought is definitely a thread ender.Comment

Yeah Floyd had his legacy in the balance when he fought the devastating Henry Bruseles.Floyd puts his legacy on the line everytime he fights. What are you talking about?

Btw Diaz > bruseles
Manny fought a prime MAB, a prime Erik, a prime JMM, a near prime Hatton, a near prime Cotto.
Floyd fought a prime Diego, a prime Hatton, a prime Castillo, a near prime Gatti.
Yeah... Legacies and all that.Comment

20 years from now pacman will be remembered for doing the damn thang and lettin his nuts hang. He had legendary rivalries with some of his contemporary best (Barrera, Morales, JMM in particular). He will be remembered for his unorthodox style and devastating power. He will be equally recognized for how he took boxing (and the world) by storm with his exciting style and charisma.
20 years from now floyd will likely still be undefeated and known as one of the greatest technicians ever. He will be remembered for his business savvy and fiscal prowess. He will be remembered as the greater boxer, but he will always have the asterisk (or regret) that he never challenged himself to take the toughest fights available. He will have impressive names on his resume, but quite a few of them came when they were on the decline (and therefore less risky). The part that's most confusing (or maybe not that confusing) is that he would have been favored in every fight, even the toughest ones. I think floyd's legacy is hurt much more from not having the Manny fight, than Manny's legacy.Comment
