how is Vargas, who doesn't hit as hard as Trinidad nor punch as accurately as Trinidad, going to KO Mayorga?

Talk of Vargas-Mayorga was going down before Mayorga won against Piccirillo, in an interview he said he would invite Vargas into the ring to say anything he wanted to Mayorga in front of everybody. I'd really like to see this go down.

My prediction: Mayorga via ko in 5.
yep, Mayorga would be too much pressure for Vargas to handle, Mayorga wins by k.o within 7 rounds

i notice alot of people are saying vargas should retire, but hes still a 27 year old kid. he may be rusty, but hes not old, he still has a long time to go before he retires, unless he retires so his image wont be tarnished.
also, can anyone tell me the reason for vargas's more than a year layoff?

Don't think it will end up happening , but if it did after seeing Vargas sat. I believe Mayorga would stop him via TKO maybe 6-7 rounds. Just My opinion.

I can see Vargas is not getting much of a chance but I really think he could outbox Mayorga. Vargas didn't look great but he also didn't look horrible in the fight. Vargas could jab and straight righthand Mayorga all night. People also seem to forget about Vargas' heart and determination. If Mayorga does hurt Vargas or knocks him down Vargas will survive through the wild punches Mayorga would follow up with. Even if they went to war I would say they are still 50/50.

Of course Vargas will keep getting up, but knockdowns = two points rounds. If Mayorga doesn't KO him, he'll still win on points. He's just too much for Vargas to handle now. In 2000? Different story. 2005. Nah uh

he has been inactive because he has serious back problems ..i also think he should retire this new new style is not working well for him he is hesitant to throw punches and is not aggresive which was one of his strenghts also he is getting hit alot i think fighting mayorga will be suicide he will get koed badly ...also he is 27 but its not the age that matters is the beatings he took trinidad ended his career and gave fernado a beating he did not recover from going into the dlh fight dlh also gave him a severe beating he is a shot fighter at this point ..

I dont see how Vargas can beat Mayorga..Vargas can box and all but it takes more than that..and Mayorga can ****..and is not afraid to take Vargas's best shot to test Vargas's chin.
