Is that the real attendance amount? If so, that's a sad figure. I've never been one to give numbers that much weight, but damn! This was a huge fight in a big region...there's no excuse for boxing only managing to pull 5k people to an event of this caliber. Was it the venue or what?

Unless your name is Pacquiao, Cotto, Mayweather Jr., Margarito(Mexicans still like this guy), **** ain't gonna sell. Boxing might die when Pac and May retire, because these guys can sell ppvs and seats. Will die in America because in Europe its doing great with the Klitschkos.Comment

Yeah, I can't recall anybody doing as well there as Gatti. He was the hometown boy. I remember the commentators saying something about the organizers trying to make Williams or Martinez into that next "Gatti," who would make Atlantic City their home base and bring in crowds to the Boardwalk. If anything Martinez has got a chance now, there is a sizable Hispanic population there.Comment

Thats a shame, that was a potential 'fight of the year'. I wish we had fights of that standard here in England regulary, id love to attend top level fights as often as i could.Comment
