I agree that Manny cannot keep taking on the big guys and Sergio is too big but Floyd is not. Floyd looks good at 154 so a catchweight fight could be a goer.

Or Mr Martinez can waste whoever until hes ready to face Lucian Bute and gets his beans (or steak, being Argentinian!). He wont bloody KO Bute with one punch thats for sure.

Factually, this is very pertinent post. And, I am not just saying that because I made a similar point on the other thread

P4P, I would rate this guy higher than most of you..... and would likely be severely castigated for my actions.

All I'm gonna commit to, is this.....

Martinez is not the one calling for catch-weights, Martinez is the one knocking those guys TFO..... does anybody know what P4P means?

And, he fights more than once a year, and against better opposition.

Actually, the phrase..... " anyone, anywhere, anytime " .....

..... does not apply to Manny, nor to Floyd, and maybe no longer to my boy Marquez either.

Its the right thing to do, I mean I understand totally purist P4P theory but it has evolved and now boxing takes wins, resume, and activity in addition to theoretically how good ppl think a fighter is which is what its based around.

So based on how boxing is doing this Floyd has to get bumped down when he is not doing anything while other fighters are impressing with meaningful wins, he can't just retain his spot on the basis of an idea ppl have of what he could potentially do.

Pac is too small & has no intention of going anywhere but back to WW which is the best thing for him. Everybody wants Pac-Mayweather at WW but I could see Floyd tempted to go for that 6th green belt at middleweight. Can't see a catchweight fight I thing Mayweather will want the belt & will make a point of saying he doesn't need a catchweight. I like Matrinez but could see Mayweather getting a 12 round UD if he boxes clever which he always does

He will only and I repeat ONLY fight fighters that lost and was battered in their most recent fights!
Give me a frikken break Manny is only getting his popularity and recognition from fans and media that don't really understand boxing!!!!
Sergio would knock out Pac and lose to Mayweather. Floyd is number one on my list with Sergio number 2 and Manny between 4 or 5 on the basis of his close fights with Marquez, refusal to fight live fighers to really gauge his abilities!!!!!

ah you meant Floyd?? yup he does duck live opponents

Martinez success is bad news for Hopkins.

I hope Hopkins can convice Floyd jr to come out and agreed to fight either Martinez or Pacman!

Can you consider a coward to be a pound for pound fighter? A ducker is a shame to the sport of boxing. Floyd Mayweather is clearly ducking Manny Pacquiao. He already threw in all the road blocks you can think of just to avoid a fight with Manny Pacquiao. It is very clear when Pacman said that he is willing to fight anybody as long as it is a boxer. To Floyd Mayweather, he will fight anybody who are smaller than him and should be in the retiring age.

How is Manny Pacquiao over Sergio Martinez? Manny
ain't been fighting live wires since 2008. I don't even
put Manny over Floyd because for all of Manny's fighting
he didn't beat any top fighters only TOP RANK fighters.
Atleast Floyd beat a top guy coming off a big win. My
                      list goes....

                      1.Sergio Martinez
                      2.Floyd Mayweather Jr
                      3.Manny Pacquiao

Sergio and Mayweather actually fought guys who people
thought had a chance to beat them. On top of that,
Manny never beat Floyd to be rightfully labeled as the
P4P king in the sport. The only way I can see myself
putting Manny over Floyd, is the fact that he has been
staying active more than Floyd BUT even then, Manny
didn't fight Shane, who was ranked higher than all the
rest of the fighers at WW. Sergio Martinez has been
                      in with the real tests.
