sorry martinez vs pacquiao aint gonna happen its a lose lose situation for pacman. 1. martinez aint a slick african american. nowadays to be called a great fighter you have to beat one. 2. its gonna be catch weight fight again. you know what all the haters gonna say. so the best opponent for pacman will be a 147 lbs african american fighter preferably with a seal of approval from the great african american slick fighter council.

sergio's words are fair. he's bigger and really a skilled big fighter should beat a smaller skilled fighter. but if all things being equal and they were the exact same size. pac wins every time. sergio was great and showed he's the class of his division. but he still has to settle for 2nd fiddle because pac is the king of this generation.

The most obvious thing here is that Sergio fights at Middleweight if not LMW/SWW.

Pacquiao is a LW at most/MAX a WW

          Mayweather is a WW/SWW/MW

          Pretty striaghtforward.

The point however is that we don't doubt that Pacquiao will accept a fight with Martinez because he is NOT SCARED to fight a tough challenge regardless of his disadvantages. That is how Pacquiao is plain and simple.

I doubt VERY MUCH if Mayweather will accept a challenge from Martinez Mayweather DUCKED Cotto, Clottey, Margarito and even PWill...so after watching that KO last night....... does anyone really believe Mayweather will step up??? Seriously??? NO WAY!!!!

Why on earth is Berto in this discussion? who has he fought to deserve a chance to fight Pac?

Granting you are right. You can do boxing a great service helping (forcing) Floyd climb that ring with Martinez. A gargantuan task to say the least but it'll be worth it IMO.

why must you assume things like that, when even yourself knows is untrue. Floyd has a better chance of beating sergio than manny does because of his style and larger size.

From the postfight interview, I inferred that Martinez also would like to fight Mayweather @ 156 giving Mayweather a shot at the Middelweight title.

Regaring the P4P rankings, I know rank Martinez #1 on the P4P rlist due to the quality of opponents in the last two years. He is also the 2010 fighter of the year in my opinion.

Regarding Pacquiao fighting Marinez, I don't see what the big deal is with the weight if Martinez fights Pacqiuao for the TITLE THAT USED TO BELONG TO MARTINEZ. Martinez would simply be going back down to recapture his Jr Middleweight/Super Weleterweight TITLE.
too bad for you.. you don't have a say on who's gonna be the top p4p fighter of the world .... martinez vs pacquiao isn't gonna happen. pacman still have an obligation to the african american community to fight their slick african american fighter next...lol

Don't forget Berto is Afro-American. That's all there is to him anyway.

All the posters stating that Martinez is too big for Pacquiao are acknowleding that Pacquiao winning the belt held by Martinez is a bunch of BS or would you prefer Paper Title. Margarito had no history at Super WW. Allowing Pacquiao to fight Margarito for the Super WW/Jr Middelweight title was a freaking circus act and a travesty to all the fighters at Super WW/Jr Middleweight who have been fighting people at that weight. In order for Pacquiao to have a shot at the title, he should have faced a title holder instead of this vacant charade.

Now he can't he face the previous champ who held the TITLE ( Sergio Martinez). The fact that Martinez is not a face first boxer with handspeed, footwork & punching power scares them ****less.
