He wants to fight the best fighter in the world, which is not Catchweight Manny.

So Manny has had almost 60 fights, and 2 catchweight fights makes him "mr. catchweight"? Didnt Leanord have them as well....or are we singling out here?

Pacquiao has the 154lbs belt, Martinez is a 154lbs fighter.

Margarito is 5′ 11″ with a 73″ reach

Martinez is 5′ 10″ with a 74" reach

The problem here is not size of Martinez but the fact that Sergio is a genuine slick boxer that would give Pacman hell regardless of the size.

The more I think about the more I believe this fight will happen. I think Bute vs Martinez falls apart for obvious reasons, and after Pirog...there is no one left for Martinez. Dude is 36 and looking to get paid. If he can get back to 154 and give Manny some time....this is a fight that will happen.

This shows how really great Pacquiao is. Now they are talking about Martinez vs. Pacquiao. They really want to see Pacquiao fall and now they want a goliath heavier than Margarito to do the job. Gees! Let Pacquiao alone brothers. He has done more than anyone else in boxing the past 50 years or more. There won't be another Pacquiao ever. No one will be as great as him inside or outside the ring. Unless the american boxing media will do some magic.

Because Manny wanted that 154 "title" (Martinez's old title). Martinez vs Pac between 154-156 or IMO at 154 when Sergio sees the money involved.

Pac wants to fight bigger guys. THIS is the type of bigger guys he should be fighting. Not a "Bigger" weight drained Hoya or a "bigger" shot and destroyed Margarito who was busted for plaster. Both IN FACT are bigger than Martinez.

How do people not understand this? Martinez has fought MOST of his career from 147-154. Weights Pac has titles at. Both "catched" but hey Pacs P4P right?

Mayweather did it. He fought a much "BIGGER" Hoya at 154 while ONLY making 147 once before.

We can expect Mayweather to fight Pac, Margarito (not now), Hoya, Mosley, Cotto (not now), Pwill and Martinez. Why can't we expect Pac who's fighting at a higher weight class than Floyd fight Martinez too?????

Why do we hold such low standards for pac?

there is no LOW standards for Pac. Sergio is a middleweight champion. Manny is a natural 145 lbs. thats already more than 10 lbs in the weigh in alone. *****S AND HATERS just wanted to see Manny lose. its not about boxing. if you are a boxing fan you know 145 lbs and 157 lbs in the weigh in are just a mile apart.

It's the not the "catchweight" that's the problem.... its the fact there for titles and he selects who he wants and what weight he wants them at.

For example....

Hoya at 147 who was not a champion but a paycheck and no title on the line
Cotto at 145 who WAS the champion and a title on the line

Why Hoya at 147 but then Cotto at a catchweight?

If you're talking about the I-Phone Bandit, last I heard he's still on 'vacation'. Oscar set that fight. Manny had no intention of staying at 147 at the time. Blame Oscar for taking that fight. He called all the shots. Manny came up to fight Oscar. As for Cotto.....perhaps it was with the fact that Manny still wasnt sure if he was going to stay at WW for good, and both parties found a compromise.

Bottom line is that, i dont understand why people make excuses and argue for a fighter that signed a contract and agreed to a fight. STAR NAMES ALWAYS SET THE FIGHT AND STIPS!!!!! ASK FLOYD WHEN HE HAD TO FIGHT AT 154 AGAINST THE BIGGER NAME.

the american media needs no magic, if anyone needs media majik its pacman,this is how he compares to a few all time greats- pacman 52 wins 38 kos Julio cesar chavez 107 wins 86 kos longest winning streak in boxing history didnt lose till he was 35 years old. archie moore 185 wins 131 kos 20 years as an elite fighter, sugar ray robinson 173 wins 108 kos they invented the term pound for pound specifcally for him!roberto duran went fom light weight to llight heavtweight 103 wins 70kos, this is just a small sample, these guys fought when it was 15 rounds and full weights no jr or super crap. as you can see what pac has done doesnt even compare or hold a candle to the all time greatest fighters, not even close! pacyaow would be a sparring partner to any of these guys! pac fans need to learn their boxing history before mouthing off ridiculous accolades that are totally untrue!
