Just like Martinez is better than Chad Dawson but fighting him makes Martinez uncompetitive agaisnt a bigger man! Floyd who is fighting ranging from WW to JMW have possibility of fighting martinez because Martinez could go down a bit to 154lbs to make fight possible, but I think he could not go down deeper to 147lbs just to reach out Pac for a fight. So, the ideal pairing should be Martinez-Floyd at 154 or Pac-Floyd at 147.

No he is not....it's like this

    Counter punching-Martinez
    Footwork-Pacquiao
    Footspeed-Pacquiao
    Power-Martinez
    Timing-Pacquiao
    Ring IQ-Martinez
    Combination punching-Pacquiao
    Handspeed-Pacquiao
    Stamina-Pacquiao
    Chin-equal
    Defense-Martinez
    establishing range-Martinez
    Body punching-Pacquiao

It's true though that Martinez has the advantage because he is the bigger fighter. Like I said....believe it or not Manny isn't any bigger than when he was fighting Marquez, Morales and at SFW....and Diaz at LW.

    Pacquiao's fight night weights
    144 Morales III
    ??? Solis
    144 Barrera II
    145 Marquez II
    147 Diaz
    148 DLH
    148 Hatton
    ??? Cotto
    ??? Clottey
    148 Margarito

If the fight were to take place it would have to happen at 154. Martinez always comes in 164-166 fight night but after moving up it might be the high 160's and possible 170. That would be the the biggest issue...but if there ever a fighter ballsey enough to take that risk....it's Pacquiao.

        1. Pac is still P4P #1. until Martinez goes up and consistantly dominates bigger men...that wont change.

        2. Yes Martinez is too big for Manny. Manny was 148 for margarito....the same exact size when he fought diaz at LW and only 3-4lbs bigger than he was when he fought Marquez and Morales at 130. So yes Martinez is right when he feels it will be a mismatch because he will hold a huge size advantage.

        3. The only guy from the lower classes who would even think about stepping in the ring with Martinez is Pacquiao. Maybe not next fight...but if there was ever a fighter with the balls to do it, it's Manny. So Floyf fans pleas cut the bull****.

        4. Floyd wont face Martinez for the same reasons he didn't want to face Stevie Johnston. A southpaw with great movement and boxing ability, that isn't that big of a draw. Sorry to bust your bubble but that fight won't happen so please get outta fantasy land. There is zero chance Floyd faces Martinez and a slightly small chance Manny will (not now but maybe in a few fights...although I doubt it).

        5. I have always stated that I felt Martinez would KO Manny and beat Floyd via wide 10-2 type of decision. He might even stop Floyd as well....but I feel he would more likely stop Manny because Manny will try to get in his kitchen and actually fight him. Again....Manny would be the only one ballsey enough to step in the ring with him, which win or lose.....Manny would still increase his legacy by taking on this fight.

Last reply...as I'll let you guys have your little fun. Kinda pathetic hat you guys are using Martinez as a way to discredit Pac. His win has nothing to do with Manny and much respect to Marivila for his performace tonight. What that has to do with Pac is beyond me....but I'm never surprised at how much Floyd fans reach.
yeah because he didn't dominated kelly pavlik right yeah kelly pavlik was 4 feet tall and smaller than martinez. Because he didn't dominate williams a 6'2 guy right because he had to loose weight instead of making theyre opponets loose weights ala pacquiao right. In one night get this in one ****ing night martinez just faced better competition than pac has faced in his last fights except marquez. and we all know how pacs face came out after that fight.

Martinez just put a fighter to sleep with one ****ing punch get this one ****ing punch and gave him his first stopage of his career thats more impressive than stopping somebody that has been stoped before like pac did against cotto and hatton. He dominated pavlik who was more threath than margarito was to pac. pavlik was the favorite manny people were talking about a mismatch and guess what martinez did manny vs margarito manny was the favorite to win.

Current p4p rankings should be like this

#1 Martinez win over williams more impressive than manny last fights and that pbf win over mosley
#2 mayweather win vs mosley more impressive than any of pacs

#3 pacquiao to tell you the truth i just have him there because he is popular probably why mostly everyone has him there. To be determined p4p best it should be determined by your level of opposition not popularity **** in that case if pbf fought nothing but ghattis at catchweights then he should be the best ever lmaol that is what pac is doing except with him they play the little man card whch already got ****ing annoying.

what are u talking about didnt pac just win an "unprecedented 8th world title at 154lbs???, so u admit its a sham right? martinez is a 154lber not a 160lber hes just that good that he has to move up. martinez can make 154lbs, and manny just won a title at 154lbs and is the supposed pnd for pnd king so dam stright pac is in the conversation, the issue is pac is heavily hyped and he never faces top competetion whats the point in being called jr middleweight champ and pnd for pnd number one if he cant back it up??? martinez is the better fighter regardless of weight because he fights top guys, hes smaller than margarito , no excuses other than pac and his followers dont want a sure fire brutal ko loss.

Barrera and Morales are more skilled than Martinez and that's a fact. You would never know that because you are knew to the sport of boxing. Don't let their brawling tactics fool you....because if you ever paid attention to Morales.....you would know what I'm talking about.

lmaol pacquiao took risk by fighting damage cotto, hatton, margarito, no punching clottey and old ass dehydrated dlh right?? wow he has so much balls. If he was to take on martinez that will be the first time he would actually take a risk. for ****s sake he couldn't even take a risk with a guy his own size on a third fight with marquez what does that ****ing tell you

Arum is a genius on creating pacquiao using the little man card.

Pacquiao has the 154lb belt. Martinez is a legitimate 154lbs fighter, bring it. Lets get real, this is really about size, it about the skill. Pacquiao would be in over his head with a boxing talent like Martinez.

It can happen, but it may take time. Just two years ago Manny was fight Marquez at 130 and no one in the history of the sport just walks through weight classes like you want Manny to do.

He is not better than Manny because what manny is doing is dominated guy a lot bigger than Him. Martinez is a career 154lb who just went up and beat to MW. Props to him for that but that is not even comparable to a flyweight moving up and dominating WW's.

You rants are really pathetic because instead of enjoying a great win for Martinez and the Middleweight division....you still have Manny's name on your mind.

boxers in his whole career. Even Cotto was able to box Mosley.
I agree that Floyd should come back and fight if he wants the
respect in the sport that he is asking for now. BUT the reality
of it is, Floyd never got much respect from people in the sport
because he is too good and they think his fights are not competitive.
Would be a dream come true if Floyd fights Pac and Sergio in
                      2011.
thats the thing, people get it twisted. i think floyd is the best pure boxer since pernell... i only criticize his matchmaking and his arrogance.... i hate the fact that the guy claims he will whoop someones ass and KO somebody, but instead he goes for a safe decision... i appreciate the virtuoso boxing display, but it becomes waaaaaay too self-serving... even winky had to open up a bit to get some respect.
