Sergio Martinez should be ranked number 1 pound for pound

Manny Pacquiao was not very impressive in both of his fights this year. Pacquiao fought Clottey who for some mysterious reason did not throw many punches as well as Shane Mosley's damaged left-overs in Margarito, who is not a very good fighter without his cheating advantage. Compare that to Sergio Martinez, who fought and beat Kelly Pavlik and Paul Williams.Comment

Definitely knockout of the year. And an even more definitive no to the answer of the poll.
Pound-for-pound status is based on the career and the body of a career's work. Pacquiao's is more impressive than Martinez, who lost (draw in my book) only two fights ago. It's sad he was a late bloomer, because in his mid-thirties now, and with his style of fighting, he could presumably (and unfortunately) drop off in any fight. He's an amazing talent though, and I'm happy he's starting to get the recognition he so deserves.Comment
