Let's hope Wlliams pays the ultimate price tonight for this stunt.
why did pwill ask for the 158 lbs catchweight?

I think that Williams was hoping that it could potentially drain Martinez and get him to be the smaller man in there. Because, realistically, Martinez has not only fought the bigger competition. He's bfought the better competition, in terms of the big guys on their resumes.
So, he's hoping that he can get him a little drained, considering Williams has made 154 pounds more recently. Psychologically, he hopes it will get in Martinez' head as well.
But, I don't think that this will have any real barring on the fight.Comment

both of them are 154 lbers, 2 pounds under 160 lbs doesn't mean jack *****. Now if pwill wanted to fight pavlik at 158 lbs, now that would definitely swing the odds in his favor cause pavlik is having problems making 160 lbs.
that's why I think it's either reason #1 (trying to make it seem like pwill isn't a big guy) or reason #2 (they think they are bigshots).Comment

I think Williams trains harder than Martinez does regardless though and that may be a factor in the fight tonight is that Williams may outlast Martinez if it becomes a battle of attrition. I still think Martinez has the power advantage though even though we saw that sick vid of Paul Williams' training.Comment

i asked the same question in one of the threads several days ago. It doesnt serve any purpose, unless people think Martinez was weight drained during the weigh in. I don't think it is significant enough to affect Martinez, if that is the intention of williams.Comment

I just wanna know what they still say he's 6'1..lol
This guys gotta be like 6'3 or 6'4
And as far as the catchweight..because he's puzzy..he doesn't want Martinez to have the full 160lb strength..I can't believe he even went as far as to ask for a catchweight yet brags about supposedly having 3 weight classes shook...pffft!!
Paul Williams is a scam!Comment
