I think Williams trains harder than Martinez does regardless though and that may be a factor in the fight tonight is that Williams may outlast Martinez if it becomes a battle of attrition. I still think Martinez has the power advantage though even though we saw that sick vid of Paul Williams' training.

I agree. martinez takes rounds off and that he's the bigger puncher in this fight.

I made the comment in the compubox numbers post by bigpoppa that williams throws a lot of punches, but martinez is by far more accurate.

I'm not discrediting pwill's victory (which isn't a foregone conclusion)... I'm asking why the catchweight when it's unnecessary. neither guy are true 160 lbers. both are simply exceptional 154 lbers.

I think everyone should ask for catchweights now since Pacquiao seems to be getting good reception from doing it. Maybe Williams will gain some fans by asking for catchweights especially in title fights.

I honest think pwill was ****** for demanding a 158 lbs catchweight. martinez can still make 154 lbs. 158 lbs doesn't really benefit him or martinez. it's like asking that they both get water before the fight.

there's only a couple reasons imho why pwill would ask for a catchweight:

1) pwill or his team are trying to fool the public that he can still make 147 lbs

2) pwill or his team think they are big shots and are trying to dictate terms

3) pwill or his team are worried cause pwill got rocked last time at 160 lbs and think that 2 lbs is gonna weaken martinez

Bargaining chip they tried to hold out for more $$ that may not have happened so they say 158 plus Williams was on the canvas last time out so wants a possibly weaker Martinez.
