you can win a fight by a stoppage in the olyimpics, so saying power dosn't mean anything is nonsence.Originally posted by ImSoFlyyyDude, before you get your panties in a bunch, in the olympics they score on connections. Nothing else.Comment

Originally posted by AnorakOkay, it's about the fiftieth Audley Harrison (or Tawdry Embarrassin') post today, but that's a sure sign this guy is starting to get noticed, at least.
I'm not convinced the guy can take a punch, that he can fight at pace, that... Well, I'm not convinced, full stop. Or period, if you will.
However, this week I've began to wonder if he deserves to be recognised as a serious contender. Consider the following, the first of which I only found out today:
1. The much-hyped Samuel Peter was beaten in the 2000 Olympics by Paolo Vidoz (who also beat Calvin Brock)... Audley beat Vidoz to win Gold to Peter's Bronze.
2. Audley's last opponent was a man who had an extremely close split decision with Monte Barrett (ranked #2 by the WBC, top five by the WBA and top ten by the IBF)... Audley TKoed him in four.
He's one of those "we'll never know till we see him" prospects. I imagine he might be as good as his opponent makes him, and he'd certainly have the reach and intelligence to be able to box with Big Klit. But would he have the pace, the heart, the drive, the punch resistance and the punch power? After a five year pro career it's still a mystery...
I Still say that he has the skills to surprise everyone, but he does need to show it soon. So I think the jury's still out on him.

I never realised until now just how big Audley's reach is.
For some reason Vitali's is recorded as a comparatively titchy 80", to Rahman's 82" and Muhammad Ali's 83". Sonny Liston and Lennox Lewis had 84".
I know reach doesn't mean everything, but Audley's is one of the biggest ever recorded - an 86" reach.Comment

I agree with you in that he APPEARS to have a glass jaw. But we don't KNOW that yet.Originally posted by ParodiusAudley is not the real deal. The guy can't take a punch, after seeing a few times. He has a glass jaw, he's slow & boring. Just another dull boring fighter in HW.Comment
