Why would you need evidence of that? 9 more minutes of boxing is obviously 9 more minutes of violence/punishment. That's common sense, but it was a poor decision by the people that decided to change the whole sport over one death. What if a few more people die in the 12th round, are we going to drop it to 10 rounds and so on till boxing is completely banned? It was the wrong thing to do. As for your original question, I don't believe deaths have went down from 15 to 12 and that is another reason I think it was the wrong thing to do.
15 rounds to 12 rounds

i think it's just an attempt to make it safe.
otherwise, they'd just make fighters wear headgear.
it's like what the nfl is doing with helmet to helmet hits.
they're attempting to make it a safer sport by not only fining but also suspending players for what they deem to be 'malicious' hits.
sports organizations as prominent as these have to try and show an attempt to improve after a major issue.
for boxing, it's death in ring in the 80's.
for the nfl, it's the proven link to dementia and other types of brain damage due to concussions.Comment

There are no other factors involved in people dying in a boxing ring other than each round lasts 3 minutes and each round provides for more punishment?
I guess I do expect it to be so simple to some of you since the majority of you aren't all that bright and always think in such simple ways.

lol what exactly do you think the cause of death/Parkinsons is in boxing? The trauma their arms sustain while hitting the bag?Are you really serious?

Thats due to boxing,
not just 15 round championship fights.
Or, are you really saying that since there are no more 15 round fights,
no fighter will ever develop Parkinsons or die in the ring?
Levander Johnsons family would disagree with you.Comment

Yeah using your logic we should ban cars, planes, alchohol, toys etc.
Blooper gave a valid explanation a few posts above.
They shortened the length to make it look like they were doing something about the danger because a wave of public anger about a death.
That doesnt mean that boxing isnt dangerous and longer fights dont cause more damage to peoples health.Comment

Well obviously 3 more rounds could mean 3 more rounds of punishment. This can add up to an extra fight after 4.
So if someone fights 40 odd times in their career to 15 rounds, that's 10 more fight compared to now.
Also at 15, people can get tired. When you get tired, you get hit.Comment

The Johnson fight should've been stopped in the 7th or 8th.
There wasn't a minute he was in that fight, and he was getting hit way too much.Comment
