marquez and morales (2nd) were near their best as well

clottey again the same as the above

why do people always and I mean always have to discredit a fighters win?

How do you really determine if a boxer is already past his prime??

Ricky Hatton may have suffered his first loss vs Floyd but he went on to retain the lightwelterweight title vs Lazcano and Malignaggi before fighting Pacquiao.

Cotto may have lost against Margarito but he successfully defended his WBO welterweight title vs Jennings and Clottey. In fact, he is now WBA light middleweight champion.

Clottey was never a boxer who is past his prime, he always gives his best in every fight except that against Pacquiao when he couldn't bring himself to open himself for Pacquiao's attacks.

Margarito despite his loss against Mosley was never past his prime, except that he was suspended for a year. How could he have a good comeback when you're basically grounded in not fighting for a year? Despite his defeat against Pacquiao, he was able to bring damage to Pacquiao. Prompting Pacquiao's team not to let him fight anymore at 154lbs.

What is really our gauge in determining a fighter being past his prime?

Out of his last lets say 6-7 big ppv fights which of these fighters would you say were still in their physical prime?

Antonio Margarito, Miguel Cotto, Oscar De La Hoya, Ricky Hatton, Juan Manuel Marquez, Marco Antonio Barrera, and Erik Morales.

I would say Marquez in the rematch was still in his physical prime and Morales even after being in tough fights still had a good amount left.

Of these two fights you could argue Marquez won the rematch and we all saw Morales beat Pacquiao in a clear decision.

So where does that leave Margarito? This happened after the hand wrap controversy and the beating by Shane Mosley.

He fought Cotto after coming off that hellacious beating by Margarito

Ricky Hatton was damaged goods after the Mayweather fight. His life has spiraled out of control.

De La Hoya, shot, past prime, and weight drained.
To me,only Oscar,Morales in the third fight and maybe Margo where what you can call shot.

Cotto beat Clottey and Foreman by tko since he get beat by Margo,I don't think he was,is shot.
        Hatton previously beat Malignaggi.

In our days, when you lost a fight by tko.You are shot.Doesn't work like that.
Of course after 3 fights with Manny,Morales was shot.

Past his prime means nothing,Hopkins was supposed to be over the hill, but the best Hopkins I ever saw was post 40.

You can deny the three best WW where Cotto,Mosley and Clottey (they all beat Berto and co) and Manny fought 2 of them, and this being BASICALLY a batamweight midget.

I agree Manny could(should maybe) have fight Mosley after his big win over Margo.
But doesnt mean he is a ducker, and by the way,you would say Mosley was shot.

Isn't it funny how the TS is talking about how HBO is questioning PAC's opponents, yet we have people here already talking about Mayweather. Shouldn't you be talking bad about Jim, Max, and Emmanuel.

                This is going 50 pages.

ricky hatton & miguel cotto were top 10 p4p when manny beat them. Clottey is not past prime. Should we do floyd's resume? Dont be bitter because every single team your city has is painfully mediocre just like that roid head on your avatar.

All the fighters who face pac raise their game. Pac fought them when they were closer to their prime than manny was. People should slate JMM for fighting Pac at 135, or people should have a go at barrera and morales for not fighting pac now, and having fought pac only when he was wet behind the ears.

                      Broken Record...

BTW I say Hatton was still in his physical prime. He was messed up becuz he was trying to fight the new style he was being taught by Floyd Sr. Otherwise I don't see how he was out of his prime.
