Disclosure: I am a white American.
Lately, there's been more and more trying to put down Pac's accomplishments. Another item worth noting is that those discrediting Pacquiao are African-Americans. Look around (youtube and other sites). More aggressive postings from haters. I can sense that the insecurity button has been pushed. The insecurity that another African-American, someone who is suppose to be in the running for the No.1 P4P spot is being called out and appears to be dodging. So in return, as a defensive instinct, they resort to discrediting and finding ideas to make a case. B-hop's claim of Pacquiao avoiding African-Americans is an idiotic idea. The guy (Pacquiao) obviously wants the top breathing African-American there is today. But the so African-American is reluctant and has doubts in himself. Perhaps, he's picturing the faces of David Diaz, ODLH, Miguel Cotto, and Antonio Margarito. Never mind the savage beating that Ricky Hatton was able to avoid by dropping as early as round 2 or the broken orbital bone that Margarito suffered. I can really understand the reluctance, especially after claiming that he's the greatest, better that Ali and SRR. Can you imagine how much pressure that brings?
I am an American and I see things the way it is. This country is known for integrity and calling things the way it is.
Let's not fantasize and make arguments about Tim Bradley and Devon Alexander. They simply don't belong. Skills wise and PPV wise. Paul Williams? Too freakin big to be fair and honest, so don't even argue in that direction. Pacquiao even humbly admitted to receiving an equal beating from Margarito. That's like accusing Paul Williams of not fighting the K-bros even though he's not giving up too much in height and reach.
Fact is - Floyd has doubts. Think about it. And be real.
Floyd has not said a word since the Pac-Marg fight.
Floyd was mute during the second negotiations. He waited for the "published" deadline to pass, a Pac-Marg contract signed and suddenly shows up saying "What negotiations"?. Made a liar out of everyone including all the HBO top executives. That was hilarious.
Floyd said once that all Manny has to do is say "I want to fight Floyd Mayweather". That has been done a dozen times!!! Do I need to post links to prove it?
You are witnessing a living legend and the sensible thing to do really is appreciate it. We all make mistakes and that's fine. I once rooted against Pacquiao until I became a believer. But you really have to give credit where credit is due. Hello! 8 titles in 8 weight classes! Are you listening? Do you understand? Regardless of whether he didn't beat the best in each weight class, but c'mon. 8 in 8. Are you listening? Can you remember when was the last time this was done? Be thankful it happened in your lifetime, given the opportunity to tell your grandchildren the story and bragging that you were there to witness it. Stop being a hater. PEACE!!!
