Juan Manuel Marquez won't last 6 rounds with Manny Pacquiao right now. He waited too long. Manny Pacquiao is a completely different fighter from the last time they fought.

im tired of haters saying pacquiao is fighting catchweight again. if you want to get paid 147lbs or nothing. you are in no position to bargain. manny went up to fight delahoya so he could get a nice payday. if you want fame and fortune then fight the man in 147lbs. why should pacquiao bow to your whims....its the other way around.

JMM is my boy, and I gotta agree with your post.....If he can't get a clean win in two fights at a preferential weight against a lesser Pacman years ago, how would he now?
Further more age is against him and for Pacman.
It would be a great fight but Pacman would beat him.
But then I spose that goes for just about anyone lately.
but I just want to point out two things that add a bit more context.
" If he can't get a clean win in two fights at a preferential weight..... "
That comment is more valid when applied to Manny than Marquez.
Manny is the #1 P4P, Manny is the superstar, Manny is the one who swept aside all who stands before him..... OH, except for Marquez, TWICE !!
It is Manny who could not get a clean win against JMM, not the other way around.
Personally, I do not think that Manny should come down to 135. It would be fairer to JMM, but Manny should not be required to do that. 140 is probably the fairest weight for BOTH guys, and it would be too much for Marquez, expecially at this late stage of his career.
A rematch at 130lb WAS REQUIRED !!..... and anyone who saw both fights, especially the second one, must agree with that.
Now it is too late.Comment

According to you, Manny is only a 6-division champion.im tired of haters saying pacquiao is fighting catchweight again. if you want to get paid 147lbs or nothing. you are in no position to bargain. manny went up to fight delahoya so he could get a nice payday. if you want fame and fortune then fight the man in 147lbs. why should pacquiao bow to your whims....its the other way around.

According to you, it was totally unfair for Manny to drain Cotto to 145, it was totally unfair for Manny to fight Hoya at a weight that was 9lb's lower than he had fought at for 7 years, it was totally unfair for Manny to insist upon a catch-weight for the Margarito fight.

Double-standard's..... at their finest.Comment

Did you even watch any of those fights?
I want to ask you something, before you quickly run away to check youtube.....
Forget the judges decision, who do you think won the Norwood fight?
Or have you just been searching boxrec for angles ?Comment

Marquez must have forgotten that in his first fight against Manny, he got knocked down three times in the first round. One of the judges admitted that he made an erroneous entry in the scorecard when he wrote 10-7 in favor of Manny instead of scoring it 10-6.Had the same judge entered the score correctly, the result would not have been a DRAW but a WIN for Manny. In the second fight, it was clear that Manny won the fight. So, I firmly believe that Marquez is only claiming to have won both fights (in his wildest dreams) so he can earn more money than what he had so far earned in his lifetime as a boxer. It is very obvious because Manny is currently the CASH COW!Shame on you Marquez. And more shame on your promoter Oscar Dela Hoya who had lost any moral authority to have any say in boxing for what he had shown himself as a boxer and as a promoter.Comment

If you want to be fair, both fighters "avoided" each other. There is a reason why the rematch took 4 years to make.. JMM priced himself out of a rematch so he took a fight in Indonesia and lost.. That was a clear dVck move by JMM
Pac on the other hand fought Diaz instead of taking a rematch.. However we still wont know if he trully ducked Marquez because he didnt stay long enough at LW to find out. Diaz was just a tune-up for a possible big fights at LW, and testing the waters at a new weight as well. Unfortunately for JMM though after one fight Pac moved up again, and he has his promoter to thank for that..
Anyway, I cant believe we are still talking about JMM-Pac. This talk is so 2009.Last edited by mikemurni; 11-20-2010, 03:26 PM.Comment

Then I doubt that you actually watched either fight. It most certainly was not "clear that Manny won the fight". The look on the face's of each of the fighters after the rematch was indicitive of who won, as-is usually the case.Marquez must have forgotten that in his first fight against Manny, he got knocked down three times in the first round. And more shame on your promoter Oscar Dela Hoya who had lost any moral authority to have any say in boxing for what he had shown himself as a boxer and as a promoter.
And come on, in the first fight Manny knocked Marquez down 3 times in the first round and broke his nose..... and still couldn't win.
Marquez had evened the scores by about the half-way point, you don't have to be a genius to see who got exposed in that fight.
A rematch was definitely warranted, now it is too late. Marquez is ineffective above 135 and Manny should not be required to drop that low.Comment
