I can totally understand wanting to get as many advantages as possible

but when somebody (particularly a trainer) mouths of specifically about how weight drained an upcoming opponent will be

it looks like he's cherry picking. I mean I can understand wanting a certain glove or the ring to be a certain size

but how many advantages does the guy need?

It didn't happen but there was an article where Team Pacquiao actually discussed having Pacquiao use 8 oz gloves and DLH wear 12 oz gloves

I understand wanting advantages but IMO, too many makes you look pathetic

**Henry Armstrong didn't need catchweights to win his title belts

and I thought boxing was about who's better ... not who can weasel as many pre fight advantages as possible.
So you then agree that it's Roach that is "cherry-picking" and not Pacquiao? Let's get that straight. Pacquiao is just the fighter that steps into the ring...Roach and Arum are the one's negotiating. Just want to get that straight. Like so many people here have already stated, boxing is not only a sport but also a business. Two companies battling each other; each wanting to better than the other. If the business side of boxing is leaving that "bitter taste in your mouth," I'm sorry but get use to it. B/c that's what boxing has come to, now.

How is that the best fighting the best? How do we expect Mayweather to ONLY fight the best but turn the blind eye on Pac?

Why do we hold such low standards for Pac?

      • I have to give Team Pacquaio their props. I mean, the PR spin they've put on this Mayweather-Pacquaio deal has been so materful that they've completely convinced the public that Money is ducking Pac when it is obvious that its the other way around. I mean seriously, they're talking about him fighting everyone except Mayweather. And, when he announces he's fighting yet another tomato can, people will blame Money for the fight not happening. That's management at its best.

        • fvkk u koncz, please not mosley.

sergio stated he cant fight at 154 anymore.

its gotta be berto or bradley/alexander winner. but who knows, winner might take on khan/maidana and we might have pac-khan.

the funny thing about this thread are the *****s who's pushing pac to fight either sergio or pwill, when their own boy wont even dare think about it. it took an earthquake to make him fight mosley!

          • I think for all the talk about Pac being the best in the sport.
He should be down to up his competition and show what he
is really made of against some stirdy technical fighters.

There really aren't many great slick counter punchers right now. Marquez deserved another shot at Pac, but Arum wanted nothing to do with that fight. Better to make big bucks against less risky opponents, even though a fight with Marquez, after the Hatton fight or the DLH fight would have been huge. I still don't think Arum wants anything to do with Mayweather, but I think if he could get a deal that really favors Pac, he'd do it. The money is worth the risk in that situation. But I think he'd rather wait it out until he knows there aren't any other options. He wants to milk that cow dry, before he tosses it aside and moves on to the next big thing.

Very well said my dude. I totally agree.

              • And why would Team Pacquiao want Shane Mosley now?
Considering Roach said Mosley wasn't a big enough draw
after Mosley beat Margarito and that Mosley was too good
for a fight with Pac. Even went as far to say to Mosley
that he wasn't De La Hoya when Shane said if Pac could
fight Oscar, then why not himself? Shane came off of
a BIG win when Team Pacquiao opted for Cotto. Now
they are considering him after a dominate loss and a
lackluster draw? Guess Mosley is vulnerable enough
now for Pac to get in the ring with. No matter what
happens, I'll always remember Shane saying this......
"Shane called me earlier [Monday] and said that's it, he's had it," Shaefer said. "He's not waiting around anymore. He said, 'This guy [Pacquiao] is obviously scared of me. So let's move on.' Sugar Shane Mosley's career has not been built around Pacquiao. He already has a legacy of greatness. But eventually a Mayweather or Cotto or Pacquiao will need him. That day will come."

WRONG!!!!! Cause I would love to see Manny submit to the testing so he can get that ass waxed once and for all. I have absolutely no doubt that Floyd will punish Manny when and if they ever fight.

                  • Pacquiao retires Mosley and abuses Berto. And Floyd stays on Vacation. Lol.

They see Shane as a desperate man on the downslide of his career. Shane is too ****** to get a tune up so I wouldn't be surprised if this fight get's made. Hopefully Shane will get another trainer cause Brother Naz doesn't seem to be working for him. He may wanna give his pops a call or at least bring him into camp with him. Shane can still take Manny, he just has to have the right fight plan and mentality going in.
