its never been explained in a logical argument, but why does Manny need the advantage of a catchweight in some of his fights?

he's already the pound for pound #1 fighter and in his prime. And pretty much a favorite vs just about anyone you throw him in with

so why does Manny need the deck stacked further in his favor with a catchweight if going into the fight, he's viewed as the better overall fighter?

It's not Pacquiao, but Roach and Arum that decide what the weight should be. Pacquiao just trains for the fight and destroys anyone in front of him.

The IRONY of this coming from Team Pac/Arum/Koncz is just staggering. First off Arum clearly states Pac hasn't fought a TOP African American "slick" fighter so people can stop attempting to debate that.

Second off, this doesn't make any sense WHY they want Mosley now, when he's not #1 at 147 or 154, he's looked bad in his last two fights (UNLIKE when Floyd fought him), he wouldn't even be the favorite (just as Clottey and Margarito wasn't) and as the Floyd haters say.... Mosley's "old", "washed up", "shot", "tired" and or "sleepy", "a shell of his former self" "dehydrated", "shouldn't have been born", shouldn't have ever boxed", "cheated", "gave up", "lost on purpose", so on and so on.... So why would he be a legit fighter for Pac? Because it would be "exciting" and Shane's "bigger"? Here we go again.......

The thread should be titled: Arum: Pacquiao vs Berto possible because we will claim that we want to fight Floyd but our actions won't justify this as we don't want to fight that kind of styled fighter; Koncz: Mosley likely because he's old, Floyd beat him, Mora went 12 for a draw, he hasn't looked good since KO'ing Margarito in 2008 and this is the kind of fighters we look for.
