Roy Jones is/was one of the slickest African American boxers out there and he got beat by hopkins, tarver, & johnson, all of whom use an orthadox boxing style. most of the time, a true , fundamentally sound boxer will beat the "slick style".....just gotta pop that jab out there. I believe the late, great Vernon Forest said it best.

If B Hops words didn't ring true then this thread wouldn't be getting all these replies.

not an excuse. don't care. not saying it's right.

but i'm explaining it to those who don't understand.
Yeah, that's probably true. I wouldn't say there are many guys at 140-154 right now that are big draws anyway, so I guess they can make a little more making money off another Top Rank fighter than off a guy from another stable.

lolz how you can say that, Team PAC is after a fight with the best African American fighter in PBF?

not a little. a lot more.

especially considering arum has to split his share with gbp if the opponent is a gbp fighter.

whenever pac fights a gbp fighter , gbp not only gets their cut from the gbp fighter's end , gbp also gets half of arum's cut from pac's end.

No they're not, they always find an excuse to not fight Floyd, as Floyd proved with Mosley, take OST and u got a fight. Pac, who miraculouslymoves up in weight losing no speed or power should be delighted to do OST and prove he did it naturally.

I'm not sure what point you're trying to make. Jones beat Hopkins long before their horrible rematch. Jones also beat Tarver before he lost their rematch and rubber match. That was a great win for Jones, even though he struggled. People always wanted to see him in tough and see if he could come out on top, and he did. Also, Hopkins is an incredibly slick fighter, probably one of the craftiest fighters between 160-175 in the last 20 years. He was a killer in his prime and could brawl, but he was an amazing counter puncher. Even Tarver has some decent ring smarts, though I don't think he's on the same level as either Jones or Hopkins.

The thing is, Pac fights mostly guys that rely on toughness and athleticism over real skill. You don't see Pac in with too many guys that can move or have great defensive skills. The last two were probably Morales and Marquez. Morales gave him a lot of trouble the first time around, and Marquez arguably beat him twice, though they were incredibly close fights. If Pac has any kind of weakness, it's guys that are smart in the ring and fundamentally sound - slick fighters.
