Manny Pacquiao -vs- Paul Williams at 147! Official Poll!

Manny wins this pretty decisively. Manny's speed and timing would be too much as also PWilliams doesn't have the power to hurt or keep Manny at bay. I see a 9-3 type decision with Williams having moments here and there.


BTW Manny wouldn't have any issues connecting on Williams chin. Tyson was 5'10" connecting on guys 6'5" and 6'6" tall as did a lot of other smaller HW's when facing guys that were 6-8 inches taller than them.

It's not like Williams relies on his foot speed or body twists from different poses to conceal attacks like so many other speedster fighters. Speedy fighters often end up using their speed to simply survive rounds (Clottey) but Williams is not normal. His work rate is going to come from all glove positions and body postures from LONG range. I've always said Williams is the best with gloves on and it was he that deserved the chance Margaritto took and failed at. Manny fighting Williams may not have the same reflex reaction of salivation for boxing fans that the though of Floyd/Pacman brings but you know what - Floyd just might be done. There's a new very public push just taking on momentum to stop and punish bullies so FMJ's attorneys have a full plate.

I really can't see how Williams can lose to anyone other than Lemieux right now - but that's just me.

1. Williams cant go back to 147 and stay healthy.
2. Even if he would, Williams is still about 6'2" with a huge reach advantage, volume punching and speed descent enough to cause problems
3. Williams is not marketable, not Top Rank and holds no titles at 147

I've been questioning his ability to make 147 healthy for a while now.. If he can't do it then he's out of the Pacquiao discussion. He should make his next fight win or lose at 147. Against at least a Luis Collazo level opposition.
