Comments Thread For: Cotto vs Chavez Jr. Still The Plan For March, Says Arum

Top Rank promoter Bob Arum says nothing has changed for the career route of Miguel Cotto. If Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. beats Alfonso Gomez on December 4 in California, Arum is still planning to put him in the ring with Cotto in March 2011. New York and Las Vegas are under consideration to host the fight. Cotto would make the first defense of his WBA junior middleweight title.

I cant believe Cotto isnt trying to tell Arum to fck himself.

It should be Berto then Margarito then a possible payday with Mayweather then retire. Cotto is going to get **** on if he keeps fighting no hopes regardless of their names or belts.

Those fights Id name make the only sense in his career at the moment.

        WHY???????

There's more meaningful fights at 154 than that big MF'er.

Cotto-Chavez will draw more money and sell more pay-per-view than Cotto-Berto ever will. Plus Berto is a small welterweight and would be a tiny junior middleweight.

Why? He's only fought 2 fights at the MW limit. It's his choice whether he wants to fight for a LMW title or to continue fighting in the obscurity of the Middleweight division where there are only 3 top fighters in Martinez, Williams and Pavlik and JCC Jr wouldn't wanna fight any of them anyway.

let him fight angulo or cintron. He's a super welter, now, and should fight a super welter weight fighter. Maybe a unification with K9 Bundradge, then a unification with Pac in the summer, if he wins????

I agree, Arum should let Cotto have a unification bout with K9 Bundradge and then face Pacquiao next. That would be so much better.

It is what it is. Hopefully Cotto help us get rid of Junior and his latin ppvs. Good match to get Cotto ready for Marg.

chavez beats that shot quittos ass, expect to see a more polished chavez 2nd fight under roach. chavez will never be even half as good as his dad 95% of all fighters wont be, but he has enough to beat a washed up cotto. cotto isnt back dont let the foreman fight fool you foreman is a bum with no punch and still had cotto seeing stars. chavez jr takes it probably easily too.
