2003 ricardo mayorga vs 2008 antonio margarito

mayorga and margirito would have had a funny press conference as well as entertaining fight. mayorga had a tough chin better stamina and decent speed at welter. IMO his best weight.

margirito this the year he beat cotto so i assume he was at his best right here. but any year of margirito is the same IMO. but tough as nails great stamina

    speed-goes to mayorga
power-mayorga had more of a one punch ko power
    chin-tie
    stamina-margirito

margirito throws more punches but he is super easy to hit.
mayorga moves his head and body more but is very wild.
he took trinidad bombs for 8 rounds i think he can take margirito slow
punches as well. but margirito would get hit by almsot every wild bomb ricardo throws. this would been a good fight. only reason why i think it never happen was because top rank and don king

      really? i never knew that.
i doubt it tho. both spinks and mayorga were promoted by don king.
and if don signed mayorga to fight margirito he would have fought.
he had no controll over his fights. im pretty sure if they signed he would have fought him
he fought bigger and badder guys than margirito. who wasnt a name brought no money
and i dont think had a belt at the time. mayroga and spinks were both champions i believe.

i remember they were in serious talks for a unification fight. margarito had the wbo but they went after the easier ibf champ spinks who no one took seriously. spinks was basically seen as the julio cesar chavez jr of that time.

Mayorga would get mauled and backed up which wouldnt work out well for him. All he had was a punch, and I think Tony could take his shots. I think Margarito wins a hard fought UD or SD.

Mayorga was better in every way. Margarito wouldnt even have a size advantage like he always does. Mayorga is a few inches taller, few inches more in reach and a weight class bigger then say Cotto. Mayorga hits harder, throws more punches and has a better chin. Also believe it or not better boxing skills, check both of their fights with Mosley for that.

Also Margarito has never felt any power like a p4p puncher like Trinidad at middleweight. Doubt Margarito lasts 4 with him.

i get it now he was saying mayorga is taller than cotto not margarito. that doesn't mean very much though. mayorga isn't gonna box margarito. he's gonna throw wild shots for the first half of the fight and if he doens't knockout margarito which he probably wouldn't he would be ripe for the taking in the 2nd half.

If you look at Margaritos best wins, its clear his size advantage plays a huge role. Like for instance his fight agaisnt Cotto. That wouldnt fly with Mayorga who is big enough and stronger then Margarito.

lol Margarito couldnt KO Mayorga with free shots. You guys think Forrest got over powered, Margarito would have got handled.
