Margarito did not want to go down like that.. He wanted to finish the fight.. Cole held up his fingers Margarito guessed it right so Marg could continue.. His corner should of saved him from this beat down..

Cole is just a horrible ref in general, and Garcia was looking out for number one-himself. If Margarito came back and caught Pac with a haymaker, his stock would rise.

Robert Garcia was a boxer himself and is of Mexican descent. He understands that Mexican fighters would rather die than quit, if at all possible.

Right or wrong that is what they are taught in the gym from day one. It's part of what has earned them the reputation that they have.

I think going the full 12 rounds satisfied both Margarito and the haters. One for pride, the other for punishment. Plus, it seems he will heal in 2 months. I just hope it didn't affect his brain for a long term toll. There have been worse injuries and cuts.

Most of my favorite boxers have been Mexican. But that "I'll die in the ring rather then quit" mantra has been disproven over, and over, and over, and over again.

Margs was always fighting back, why would cole have stopped the fight? The onus would be on the physician if anyone. It was his job to determin whether margs could see or not. Also margs career is not "ruined" on doctors advice he just cant fight for 60 days. I think if vinny paz can come back from a broken neck margarito can come back from a broken orbital bone. Very opinionated article for this site.
