Who punches harder: Vitaliy or Mike?

Vitaliy was able to KD Danny in round 1.

Mike (with then good knee) could not do the same.

I think Vitaliy is a better or as good a puncher as Mike is.

    What do you think?

I think Tyson is a stronger puncher.

mike's power does strike fear in the hearts of his victims..
          they have nightmares about it.

like they wince up and flinch before the punch is half way delivered.

I'm not sure if I've ever seen vitali throw his hardest punch.
mike seems to throw his hardest punches 60% of the time..

hard to judge, but mike will always be known for his power,
VK for his awkward style and chin?

            Nautilus that's a ****** argument.

            Vitali KO'd Williams in 8
Sinam Sam KO'd Williams in 6

So Sinal Sam hits harder then Vitali and Tyson . . . .(?)

Not a ****** argument.... I am sure if Sinam-Danny was a Championship bout, Danny would not have stayed down and got up.

Both Mike and Vitaliy tried to take out Danny in round 1, neither suceeded, but Vitaliy managed to score a KD.

Sinam WAS a championship bout... it was for the European title which was a significant step up for Danny, though one he was expected to win handily. But nerves and shingles got the better of him that night... I don't regard that as a "legitimate" loss. Danny would beat Sinam 9 times out of 10. Unluckily for him, he met Sam on the one time.

As for the hitting, did you guys not see Larry Merchant's interview? Danny explicitly said that Tyson hits harder, but Klitschko does so with more consistency.

That statement was just a lil bravada (?) on Danny's part (implying that he took much harder shots from Tyson in round 1 and did not go down).

I think first rounds of each fight offered a very pure way to judge the power of punches. I do not think "consistency" was so important for round 1.

That's a bit far-fetched for me. If Danny says Tyson hits harder than Vitali, that's enough for me. I don't see why he would lie -bravery? i dont get that, he was brave taking that beating!

I also think Vitali caught Danny with cleaner shots than Mike, and against Tyson when Danny was dazed he just grabbed on to tyson - something he couldn't get near to doing against VK. And Tyson's power possibly wasn't what it was 15 yrs ago.
