  • round 1: feel out round....Floyd tries to move and dictate the pace but he gets tagged and buckles....he tries to shoulder roll a barrage but rolls his shoulders the wrong way, gets knocked down..round ends with Floyd hanging on for dear life with both arms around PAC and one leg outside of the ringropes

round 2: floyd tries the bernard hopkins lunge-then-clinch method...works for about 30secs but he gets turned and eats a straight left, gets knocked down again...floyd spends the rest of the round by spitting out his mouthpiece to stop the action...after the 3rd guard spit, a point is deducted

in between rounds 2 and 3, floyd has an anxiety attack and panic attack in the corner...he urinates on himself and accidentally on roger's shoes...ellerbe stops the fight...people start throwing stuff in the ring...floyd is escorted back into the dressing room and is never heard from again

    • There is some REALLY good technical analysis here and I ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT. Major props to the thread creator for his in depth analysis. Here is my thing, I have absolutely no issue with anyone having an opinion on who is going to win this fight as long as they provide reasons why (technical analysis) which is exactly what you've done here. It just seems to me that the majority of Pac fans say ******ed s**t like "Pac will destroy Floyd" or "Floyd will get killed" and provide no reasoning, and quite frankly it just sounds ignorant. So for you as a Pac fan to really go in depth about how you see the fight playing out and giving excellent justification is extremely impressive. The funny thing is if you read through this thread it is soooo easy to see the guys that actually know boxing and the ones that don't simply by their responses. A couple guys have just put up dumb comments like "Floyd runs too much" or "Manny throws so many punches..really that's how you respond to an in depth well though out analysis of this fight?

Awesome thread man, very refreshing, and definitely appreciated!

Thanks for your kind compliments...and as a pugilistic arts fan, it is really our joy to talk about our love in boxing.

Yes I am a Pacquiao fan and Mayweather fan too...(in the ring).

        But Boxing first rules...

That's certainly one of the POSSIBLE SCENARIOS I've envisioned...and my "safe" analysis is based mainly on both fighters being in their peak condition (mind and body).

But reality is that it won't be an idealized fight for both. Pacquiao, in my opinion is slightly past his peak and his role as a congressman and it's demanding chores is very demanding at the least.

I expect him to be much slower now too (and I do think that he was a tad slower against COTTO in comparison to few fights before that).

With Mayweather, same thing...his mind is seemingly not into it anymore while he hasn't really fought in a long time too. His legal obligations and court dates WILL take its toll mentally if not physically.

But nevertheless a fight between them would still salivate us hardcore boxing fans and casual fans alike. I envision that if they would fight, perhaps by the end of 2011 or early 2012.

          But that's a BIG IF...and many IFs...

            • Floyd who dominated southpaws were not as good as Pac. they were not even considered "good boxer" not a future hall of famer but still gave Floyd some problem.

Think what Manny can do to Floyd. the same Manny who is considered GREAT AND ATG, the same Manny who does not gas out and never get tired..the same Manny who has more power in both hands than those southpaws that Floyd dominated..The same Manny who has a better footwork with the best combination in boxing today..If those southpaws gave Floyd some problems and tagged him in the early rounds, I believe with Manny's ability, athleticism and skills with GREAT CHIN, he can really beat FLoyd. because none of those soutpaws Floyd fought were HALF as good as Pac..

Floyd cannot beat Pac with pot shots!
Manny will walk thru Floyds best shot!

honestly if Floyd think for a second Manny was an easy fight or he was so confident of schooling Pac like the haters and *****s were saying?, the fight would have already happened without the b.s. extra drug testing.

im not saying Pac WILL DEFINITELY beat FLoyd..what im saying is Pac has all the tools to beat Floyd. southpaw, stamina, fast hands, great footwork, power punching, best combination and great chin.

Points well taken...but I think that as bombastic and dynamic of a fighter Pacquiao is, Mayweather would use PACING and win the decisions by the end of the game.

Mayweather is the consummate defensive fighter...meaning he will not take risk unless he had the leverage in terms of strength, speed, angle and the opponent's condition.

Pacquiao, like Mayweather, is a superbly conditioned fighter...so at most I think that Pacquiao can weather the whole fight...whereas Mayweather can potshot his way towards a UD.

I think that it is fair to say that Pacquiao is dangerous and can KO Mayweather due not only to his speed/strength but his relentless follow-ups. But to be fair Mayweather's strength (power) is highly underrated likewise and if he can get Pacquiao in trouble and backed up in the ropes or a corner, he can hurt Pacquiao.

                Thus this needs to happen...

Care to give us the break down please?
