The reason this needs to happen soon is because they would possibly need a rematch depending on the outcome of the fight, so they need to get the first one out of the way quick.

Plus Floyd dont want to wait for Pac to be shop worn, like SRL waited for Hagler to be slightly past it. Pac is fighting all the time, while FLoyd has less mileage on the clock.

Floyd dont want to be known as only beating Pac when he was past his best.

That's my best hope that Mayweather realizes that. Not to be cynical but what you are talking about IS the ideal situation but unfortunately the way things are being presented right now...there's too much on the plate for Mayweather being legally "in-trouble"...

Once he gets past that (hopefully sooner than later)...it can quickly accelerate.

The best hope for boxing is this fight.

Outworking Mayweather is indeed one very possible and most logical way we see Pac to beat Mayweather but one thing we overlook (no matter how small the chances) is that ONE BIG PUNCH from Pacquiao can also open up floodgates of combinations as it staggers him.

One well place punch can do that to anyone and certainly even to the master of defense in Mayweather.

On another note, Mayweather do have some "problems" with southpaws as demonstrated by Zab Judah. Zab's right hook as it was also well placed actually knocked Mayweather's balance momentarily (I think it was a KD) but unfortunately for Zab he didn't follow it up. Perhaps he didn't expect it and it was "lucky" but no matter, it shows the awkwardness of UNORTHODOX FIGHTERS pose to orthodox boxers.

And if anyone, a southpaw in Pacquiao could also be a challenge even for a Mayweather. Certainly in the earlier rounds.

            Let's all be fair...

I want to hear even the EXTREME explanations. What I've taken is the "safe approach" just basing on the "given". But I am not partial to Mayweather or Pacquiao.

I think that both have good chances of beating each other up and it boils down to TIMING AND OPPORTUNITIES. Like a good football match, whoever wants it the most, makes the least mistakes, makes the least turnovers...would win.

Instead of calling each other out as *******S or *****S, let's post it here civilly.

We cannot discount possibilities, and even that, I have included that as part of my possibilities because of the nature that:

                  • Mayweather can be rattled on the early rounds
                  • Mayweather is a great adjust-er
                  • Mayweather has great distance, defense and stamina

And therefore it isn't far fetch that Pacquiao CAN. He has that potential.

Now if that person claims it without breaking it down, then it would be less palatable to our technical minds. If he is just saying that due to his "*******ISM", then yeah I would agree with you.

But this site is full of *******S and *****S.

And thus I encourage everyone to join and discuss it here.....so my response to you, in the fairest way, is that YES, PACQUIAO DEFINITELY CAN KO MAYWEATHER in the early rounds.

                  Would he? That's another question.

It is only fair for us BOXING FANS...and in this light I would say I really hated the commercialism and the "fixings" that Arum is doing.

It's not a shot at boxers but the way boxers are being swayed by the allures of money used by promoters and agencies.

BOXING NEEDS A FIXIN' and it's about time to reclaim the sport. Having Mayweather and Pacquiao can bring back some of the old magic and allure.
