I defend pisto whip in this instance because I've seen him defend PR fighters from irrational attacks before, Cotto included.


There are too many attempts by posters on this forum to hate on and discredit Tony, just because he beat down their boy, while using something that has never been substantiated as an excuse for that hate and discrediting.

When he referred to Ricans, pistol whip was just observing that it's the PR posters who are behind it 9/10.

Like I wrote before, my problem is not about the fighters. It's the remarks regarding Puerto Rico. You are entitled to defend whoever you want and I have no problem with you or anybody. I just despise comments as such.

Margarito took a couple of rounds in a lot of observers' estimations, not just mine.

So, if Tony landed nothing of importance, how come Pacquiao was visibly hurt to the body in the 6th? How come Pacquiao was hit with uppercuts and straight rights which he ****** up throughout the first ⅔ of the fight? How come Pacquiao is cancelling public appearances to have his injuries tended to?

Margarito was certainly more competetive than Cotto was. And that's just something you'll have to deal with.

when marg fought cotto i gave marg 2 out of the first 6 rounds after that marg was able to catch up with cotto until cotto's corner threw in the towel. but you just can't accept that your "warrior" barely won 1 round.

For ⅔ of the fight it was a competition, regardless of who was stacking up the rounds. Margarito stayed with Pacquiao, punched with him, hit him, landed meaningful shots, even hurt him.

A lot of the impartial commetary I've seen agrees that Tony hung with Pac for the majority of the fight, even if it was clear that one man had the upper hand. That upper hand was capitalized upon by Pacquiao in the final third of the fight.

I already named one boxing media pundit who did so, I won't be bothered pulling up the name of every other last pundit who also did.

You realize that 2 of the official judges also gave Margarito rounds, right?

Tony hurt Pacquiao in the fight and landed good shots. "Only once" still counts as hurting him. Pac's not easy to hurt, it's worth noting.


Why is warrior in inverted commas? More discrediting? Tony defined warrior that night and has done so on several nights in his career.
