Wouldn't describe that fight as a war, he just took some heavy shots here and there from a naturally bigger fighter.Comment

Neither is comparable to the other. A detached retina is completely different from a fractured orbital bone. I don't understand why Leonard's situation was even brought up. If a comparison was going to be made it should have been Meldrick Taylor(Against Chavez)who had the same injury as Margarito.Well known eye specialist Dr. Arnold Salud says the fractured eye socket injury suffered by Antonio Margarito as a result of the battering he received at the hands of pound-for-pound king Manny Pacquiao is not as bad as the eye injury suffered by Sugar Ray Leonard in 1982.

Where did you get that information from? With all due respect, it couldn't be from a reliable source. Here's why, when you have broken ribs, it is common knowledge that you will experience severe pain in the injured area; you will also experience a lot of pain when you breathe and feel short of breath.
Additionally, you will feel debilitating pain if you use your pectoral muscles or if someone hits or pushes on your breastbone. In other words if that were the case, Manny Pacquiao would have had difficulty breathing and he would have had a hard time punching. And he would not have been able to withstand the pain of being punched to his upper torso. At least not for long, or continually as occurred in the fight!Comment
