Pacquiao deserves it because he's a nicer guy and he throws more punches.
Pacquiao not only ranked higher P4P than Mayweather, now ranked higher at 147 too....

I talked to Tony's co-manager last night and this piece was brought up but all agreed that if Tony was unresponsive or sluggish they would stop but everyone all saw that Tony still had fight in him in rounds 8-10
the 11th is probably the closest they probably came but IMO if it was so close to the end they probably gave Tony the benefit of the doubt
Tony looked about as good as I could have hoped for but he said that Manny just kept coming. He said it wasn't the power overall moreso than the sheer speed and repetitive nature of Manny's punching abilityComment

The winner of Marg-Cotto should have never even been for the ring title even if Floyd was NOT the champ. Which I think he had already retired which would of made it vacant but I don't remember.
However, if it was vacant it would not have been for the title cuz Cotto was #1 and Marg was like rank#4. So #1 and #4 can't fight for the vacant title...
However, when Marg and Shane fought. Marg was rank #1 and Shane was rank #3. Cotto was rank #2. The #1 had just beat the #2 guy and was facing the #3 the guy. So by all means that fight should Marg-Shane should have been for the vacant title. But, the ring gave a BS reason why it wasn't.
you're looking at start of 2008 rankings where cotto , pwill and mosley was ahead of marg with floyd as champ.
but......before the marg-cotto fight. mosley went back to 154 to fight mayorga and not only that but he looked awful. williams lost to quintana.
hence marg moving up to the #2 spot.
after floyd lost his ring belt due to retirement , the ring didn't make mosley #2 because of his awful outing against mayorga.
ring also thought a marg-cotto rematch was coming up and that should give them a ring champion (no one though mosley would beat marg because of how awful he looked against mayorga)Comment

well in his defense he did ask him some key questions

it was a moral victory to make it to the end but still i didn't like to see him taking punishment in a fight he didn't have a chance to win. he wasn't gonna catch up to pac anymore.
that said......if marg shows up in the cotto rematch like he did last saturday?
i like marg's chances. he can still take a punch and he still applies a ton of pressure.Comment

pac wasn't really staggering him with head punches but still he ate a lot. i feared for marg's health later on in life. marg has eaten a lot of punches in his career.

if that version of Tony shows up, Cotto better be in awesome shape...Tony was still relentless
his will might have been broken, but it was never haltedComment
