I think Pac-Marg fight as a Super welterweight championship was some plain old BS..Pac is NO eight-divisional world champ in my book. How are u gonna weigh-in @ 144 for a 154-Ib belt!?...F/that...Pac might be a phenom, but he's also catchweight chUmp!...he didn't even bother to weigh-in as a regular welterweight (147Ibs); the weight class he claims he belongs to...he just came in @ almost 2 weight divisions below and then cheated with speed...I don't know if like the guy anymore after this. Because I’m trying to figure out how HE himself justifies the fight for an 8th divisional championship belt..it’s cool if u want to challenge urself against a bigger man, but don’t pretend or sanction it as a world-recognized championship bout…cuz it’s a farce...On a different note; Punchwise, i think Pac hits harder than Mayweather (see Margarito's face)..Skillwise, Mayweather trumps that catchweight chump...Ultimately, Mayweather beats him!
That said, Pac put on a spectacular showcase against a bigger man. Period!. Regardless of the pertinent facts such as the illegal catchweight issue, drained opponents and ****ty championship billings etc…the bottomline line was, it was a smaller man versus a significantly bigger man. In the fight, Pac was shown to be vunerable, but that little man pulled it out in fine fashion...or maybe it was Marg didn’t capitalize on those moments he had pac hurt…cuz pac was indeed hurt several times.
Nonetheless, he was very impressive..he really threw heavy-handed power shots more than anything else..and he needed to cuz it was marg…he really, really was committed and use the approriate tools (angles and power shots)…the shots he threw in the clottey fights were many feints, no power behind then cuz he was tired casual viewers didn’t see that, but marg forced him to deliver in this fight.
Marg also fell victims to Pac mental games..from the catholic cross showcase, to the beating his fists together when someone momentarily gets the better of him…Marg was strong, and he had some successes, but I felt like he falter mentally @ some point even tho he didn’t give up to the end. Pac mind games are soooooooo obvious and simple, and can easily be disregard or dismissed. Mayweather would do just that…he won’t fall for them..but rather, I think it’d be vice-versa…
I don’t hate Pac as a person, or a boxer…I hate the way he’s glorified for all these achievements when the fact is, he cut corners..he cut corners by taking on Diaz who wasn’t a top 3-4 super lightweight (but that performance was amazing tho). He cut corners with DLH by draining him and not making 147 himself (I think). That Hatton win was LEGIT!..but maybe Hatton was already gone b4 that, courtesy of that white power and bodily abuse (we’ll never know)…he cut corners by fighting cotto @ 145, cotto was drained and mentally compromised if I’m not mistaken, pac himself never made 147 for that fight, but it was billed as a WBO championship fight. The Clottey win was LEGIT!, but Pac was tired as ****, he could not break down clottey. HE FEINTED A LOT OF AGGRESSION IN THAT FIGHT, and so he looked good to casual observers because the little output from clottey. When clottey DID throw punches, he actually hurt pac (see pac face after that fight, that’s the most damage he has suffered in a while)…he now cut corners with marg…bring a 154ib beast to 150..at that point, even tho he was bigger, marg was not marg..technically he was still bigger than pac…and he did make an effort to fight, but he was a sitting duck…
