HBO commentators, boxing fans, & the media are all RACIST towards BLACK FIGHTERS!

I didn't say racist, I just said there's something there. It may not be the media, it could just be the audience. But whatever the reason, some of that treatment seems unfair. Other than Maybe the Klitchko bros, name a non black fighter as exciting as Mosley was, or as Williams can be that can't sell? (I'm not saying there aren't any, I'm genuinely asking if u can name one)Comment

LOL Idiots like you are the reason why the Black community gets laughed at when the say racism nowadays because they say it so often over bs that it has become the "big bad wolf syndrome".
Keep peddling that "uncle tom" card moron. I look at some of my own fam when they call me that and I laugh in their face and answer back, hello earth to the 60's.

You can say i'm complaining or even pulling the race card, but lets face it they are RACIST! Its not about boxing, skill, or belts, its about color shades. Why is that black fighters not only have to dominate their opponent in the ring but they have to sell themselves to even get the recognition and the credit they deserve? Fighters from Jack Johnson, Ali, Mike Tyson, Roy Jones, and even Mayweather not only had to dominate but they had to act a fool to marketed themselves. Where as white fighters like Joe C, Kelly Pavil (at one time), Klitch bros and the one that takes the cake MANNY PACQUIAO can fight bums, remain humble and get all the credit in the world.
No matter who Mayweather fights its never good enough. He beat castillo, they said he lost, he beat him again and they still complained. Hatton ko castillo and they said Floyd was ducking him, he ko'd him and they turned around and said he was too small. Floyd went up to 154 got the official belt at the official weight they said Oscar was too old. Two years later Oscar drained down to 147 and got stopped by Pac and they gave him fighter of the year. Pac turned around and ko hatton after floyd and got fighter of the decade. Margarito a MEXICAN beat cot first, Pac beat him and they compared him to armstrong and ali. Mosley kos Mayorga and Margarito and loses 12 brutal rounds to floyd, they say Mosley is too old. Pac beats Margarito the WW for the 154 title and he's rated the best fighter ever? I don't understand this ****..
Marquez goes up to 144, they say he was bloated and didn't belong at that weight. Now Roach says bring him to 147 cuz Manny isn't going to do a catch weight?? The catch weight king isn't going to do a catch weight??
If Floyd ever fights Pac, which i doubt because they're going for Marquez. If floyd wins they'll say...he was too small, a congress man etc..
The rest of it is horse**** !Comment

You can thank their own demographic for that. Even the African American community isn't tuning in or showing up to their fights. Its not a racist issue, its an interest issue. If African American fighters were being supported by their own people, which they aren't, then you would have a valid point. HBO, Showtime, and ESPN have tried hard to tap into the Afro American market with fighters such as Berto, Kirkland, Dawson, Dirrel, Ward, etc, but they aren't biting.
It seems more like RACIAL BIASED rather than racism. I can understand it when u have third world countries producing really tough exciting fighters, while the US (with all it's state of the art equipment, vitamins, and strategies that every other gym uses) produces ur run of the mill good boxers just waiting to get tested and proven to be overrated like Alexander (maybe not really, but that's certainly how he looked). But than u got Paul Williams leaving it all in the ring and still not getting fans? Come on...Last edited by JDezi4; 11-17-2010, 02:16 AM.Comment

OK, i'll give you one good argument. Honestly man, you're too generalizing the whole boxing industry and yet all your complains are all about Floyd. Ok, let's talk about Floyd. True, he's one of the best fighter out there. In fact, he could be the best bar none. Why I said that? Because he is a speed demon, a defensive tactician and a master of sweet science.
HOWEVER (and those are in capital letters), I see 3 flaws in him.
First, he's a prima donna. He's very difficult to deal with. Just see the different interviews he had over this past few years. He always think he's always right. Not that i'm complaining about how he brags about his skills but let's be real here, he should tone down his ego.
Second, he holds that zero like it's the golden egg. Mistaken as he is, nobody gives a **** whether you have a clean slate in your records. Great fighters are not measured from how many fight they win BUT rather, on how many great battles they endured and tough luck, some of it are in losing fashion.
Third, he's so in love with himself. A narcissistic paranoid attitude bordering on acute hallucination and detachment from reality. He's living in his own bubble where utopic accolades are showered upon him. Well, if he happens to browse a few minutes outside his box, he would have learned that man indeed is not an island. He will never be the best in boxing by himself alone. He need a worthy opponent to be great.
Read back through history. All the great boxers attained the pinnacle of their careers precisely because they had overcome unsurmountable opponents. Breaking records and redefining what is the norm. COLOR OF THE SKIN HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH IT. It is all about the heart of being a true champion lording over a worthy opponent. From Joe Louis to Ali to SRR, from Hagler to SRL, ODLH to Pacman. They all took it to the limit.
Floyd should, i mean, MUST do the same thing also. It's should not be all about the money, it should be also about legacy.Comment

I root for Pac now, but the way they talk about him is sickening....The dude fought Margarito the WW for the 154 title. He weighed 144 and Margarito weighed 150. Margarito should've came to 147 or manny should've went to 140...theres no way that was a JMW fight considering the fact both of them aren't JMW~Comment
