The fact that he apparently managed to fracture one of Pacquiao's rib bones doesn't prove much about his power. Hatton did a similar thing to admittedly a past prime Castillo, and no one would claim that Hatton has as much power as Margarito. If you hit someone right, almost anyone can fracture a rib. And although he was outworked throughout the fight, Marg landed a lot of very hard body shots on Pac.Last edited by Dave Rado; 11-15-2010, 06:17 PM.Comment

No credible people think Marg was using illegal handwraps as far back as the Williams fight, and he seriously hurt Williams - so obviously he has decent power. But many credible people think his power against Cotto, Cintron in the rematch, and possibly Johnson was greater than in his previous or subsequent fights, and some of his sparring partners around that time seem to corroborate that idea. We'll never know for sure, but I don't think the Pacquiao fight answers any questions about it in either direction.

but people shouldn't forget the size difference either.
148 vs 165, a hard punch to a body is def. going to cause damage if landed right.Comment

it boggles my mind how anyone can hate & discredit pacquiao who on fight night was a welterweight, who dominated what essentially was a freaking super middleweight.Comment
