Manny would MURK Williams but Martinez would MURK Pacquiao...

      Man please.

Roach want NOTHING to do with Paul. So what makes you think after he beats Martinez again that all of sudden Team Pac will be ready and willing to face the Lineal Middle Weight Champion of the World?

I agree. Pacquiao's team has shown us over the last year that they have no interest in him fighting any top contender or any fighter who is at the top of their game.

They are now talking about Marquez at 147. Just when I thought I couldn't be more sick to my stomach about what's happening in boxing with Manny, Roach says something like this to the media. Of course Marquez will want the payday, and it's another easy fight for Manny, but why take it?

Why not fight guys like Paul Williams, Sergio Martinez, Shane Mosley? The fact is they are all very capable of beating him, so he will stick to picking a guy from the bum of the month club.

Marquez doesn't have it anymore. I guess the best fight we'll ever likely get to see is Manny/Cotto. I still believe Manny beats him, but Cotto is just slick enough to last deep into the fight and win some rounds, and he's tough enough to exchange with Manny should it come down to it.

That's probably the best fight we'll get to see, and that to me is very, very sad.

All these Pacquiao fans are not helping Pacquiao's legacy at all. Step up and let him know you are not impressed with his choice of opponent, write to guys like Dan Rafael. Get it out there that you want to see him fight GOOD FIGHTERS who are AT THE TOP OF THEIR GAME, not shot fighters who can not compete!

I just keep hoping he will fight somebody good, and we have a guy like Shane saying he'd like a fight with Pacquiao, and what do we read from team Pac? "Roach want's Marquez at 147."

It's a downright slap to the face of all boxing fans. Give us what we want, we're the one's paying for it.

Why can't he simply fight a fighter who's been impressive as of late?

Bro, I agree a JMM bout @147 is BS. The thing is you are holding Pac to a different standard, both Sergio and Pwill are bigger dudes than Pac. Would Pac fight them? Yeah, I think he would. Its just a few years ago you would laugh at the idea of him fighting above 147, now its sad he doesn't fight the top 154-160 guys?

Wheres the "best" 147 (Floyd) guy when you need him? vacation I think?

Pac wants to fight at jr mdw does he not? So it's ok to claim to be a Jr MDW champ and fight only bums? He should be held to the same standard as any other guy in the weight class. That excuse ran dry over a year ago man, nobody is even using it anymore.

And that's fine, fight the best guys at 147 or fight Jr mdw's like Pwill and Sergio at 150, I'd be happy with that and I'm sure they'd make the weight.

They are live opponents and will come to FIGHT, unlike Margarito and Clottey who are not live opponents and can not perform at the level necessary to be competitive.

I'm tired of the excuses "Pacquiao can fight bums because he's small."

If thats the case then stay at welterweight but damn it, fight the best! Stick to one division and clean it up, unify the title, and DEFEND IT!!

Nobody cares about a guy who steps up in weight, fights a bum for a vacant title, and wins! Even Kellerman and Lampley agreed that was used "As hype for the fight, but is not a relevant issue." because they know it's phony bull****.

Just fight a live opponent who can fight and I will give him all the respect he deserves, but as long as he continues to fight shot fighters I will give him the same amount of respect I'd give anybody else for beating a shot fighter.

Bro, trust- I think the title given in the Marg fight was BS. I thought so when I first heard it.
i agree that I want to see great fights too, we have no argument there.

I gave Marg a chance only because he looked determined in 24/7, but it wasn't enough apparently.

The casual fan will watch 24/7 and have hope for any fighter. You could do a 24/7 with Ricky Hatton, who is shot to hell and has been for a few years, and you would watch him train, and there are people who would buy into the hype. That's what 24/7 does. It fools people into thinking shot fighters are competitors.

We should be looking at past fights, not 24/7, because anybody can look good in training. Yeah he worked his ass off, but he's shot!

And I'm not using hindsight, check my threads from when it was first announced. I claimed he was shot, not a live fighter, and that Pac would beat him every round. I believed Pac would stop him late (which is should have been stopped as a TKO in the 10th), but everything else I said came true.

My uncle called and asked me if I was coming by for the fight and I told him "That fight is a joke. I'm going to go out with friends and I'll watch the encore of it later."

24/7 can make anybody look good, but it's solely used to hype a fight. Real boxing fans know better than to fall for that, but it seems 90% of this forum bought into it....

Anybody who believes Pac is "That much greater" for beating Margarito the way he did is delusional and is clueless because the fact is "Margarito is shot."
