Wow, people calling 41k attendance disappointing? LOL

First off, I think it was because of bad schedule. Putting the fight at the same date with a football game. I can't believe some journalist will call it disappointing considering that kind of attendance is really big for a sport like boxing.

Tickets were priced too high. Should have made the lower level bowl (not the ringside/floor/field seats) $25, middle and upper level seats $10, and standing room for $5.

Would have had 100k+, sold a bunch of food and souviners, got more money from sponsorships, received a bunch of positive attention from casual fans, and gained some lower income younger hardcore fans.

I know most people went ahead and bought it, and went to the fight.

However there were plenty of people like me who didn't put 1 dollar into this fight because they didn't want to see Margarito make 1 dollar off of them.

If he wasn't a cheater I think they would have gone above 50K easy.

Well, when you announce that it will shatter all attendance records, will do 75,000 plus, and then it actually ends up doing 20% LESS than the Clottey fight did, then yeah, it could be considered "disappointing"..........

The number of attendance wasn't disappointing at all, if you are going to consider that both the fighters are Non-Americans!

The Fight still create excitements and put Boxing to Life!

The 51K number for the Clottey fight was fabricated and the actual numbers were 36500 tickets sold and 5K given away for free.

So basically they did almost identical numbers.

                      but 36,500 plus 5,000 = 41, 500

                      41K, not 51K

                      Please help
