That was unbelievable.
Harrison was a rubber opponent, a payday..... I can't quite put my finger on why it stinks that Haye could carry Harrision for two rounds, if what he says is true, so that he could collect on a bet that he placed on himself for a 3rd round ko..... and then come out and publicly admit it.
I don't know if that is breaking a law or anything, or if Haye is contravening any boxing code of conduct, I doubt it.....
And, maybe I am overstating what happened.....
..... but in principle, is what Haye did, one step short of what Briggs did against Green?
I am not comparing taking a dive, with carrying someone, when it comes to the technical ruling, or public perception, just the principle.
In both examples a fighter fought within himself and did not fight to the best of his abilities, in order to circumvent or manipulate the result of the bout.
Maybe it does sound silly to compare the two situations, but in principle they are very similar..... and I wonder how the guy that put $1k on a Haye 2nd round tko felt when he read in the paper that his boy held Harrision up for another round so that he could collect on his own bet?
