it wasn't a great performance. hopefully he learns from it, he's obviously extremely talented.

It wasn't pretty, it was workman like and he's moving so fast due to his age. Most guys would already have 20-25 fights before going against a guy of Cordoba's skills.

I just don't think he'll be able to adjust to the pro-game fast enough to make a difference.

I couldn't believe he's only 5'4. The guys are just going to get bigger and he only can improve marginally at this point.

Rigondeaux has a somehow "sad" story to tell as a boxer: he's been, at one point, the best amateur boxer in the World: two-times olympic champion, two-times world champion etc... He certainly would have wanted to go pro earlier, but the Cuban laws didn't allowed him to.
He finally reached pro-boxing at 29 years old, and he now lives with the pressure, the fear and the bitterness that it could be too late for him to enter the greatness as a pro: he is eligible for a WBC or WBA world championship, that's for sure, even if his next opponents will be tougher and meaner than the very good and respectable "El Maestrito" (specially if he decides to go featherweight...), but he will never reach, as a pro, the legendary status and charisma he had as an amateur.

Nonetheless, in this last match I didn't see him "running" but controlling the opponent as he still hasn't much confidence with professional boxing (and I can see why, it would be crazy for him to go bobbing and weaving like a little Marciano with such short experience)... Altho he's extremely talented and he's got a left uppercut which is sweeeet as sugar.

he ran as soon as he got balsted. i know dude only has 6 pro fights, but he's not gonna change. he is what he is, I think. someone will walk through him on the elite level soon.

            guys to stay away from:

            Nonito
            Montiel
            Hosegawaa
Everyone in the bantam tourney except maybe Vic D.

true but he is seasoned enough in the ring 2 do better then that. a million amateur fights and they way he is being hyped, he dropped a dud on sat.
