It was exciting but it was a big risk which didn't pay off for him. He wasted all of his energy which was a rookie mistake but he got he nod somehow, I'd pick him to win the rematch which Soto-Karass deserves.

I thought Soto deserved to win.

As for the burst of punches, I haven't seen much of the guy, but I think the fact he went for broke like that reflects the calibre of guys he has been in with before. That burst of speed and power would be more than enough to put away a journeyman fighter. He should have pawed at Soto and punched at the openings, landed some really clean quality punches, got the ref's attention, and then thrown a barrage to end it.

But I know from experience, it is tempting to just let loose when you have a guy retreating.

As for the decision, I really thought Soto-Karass won.

The only thing that kept Soto-Karass up in that round was the power of Winchell's Donuts

My opinion: Jones flurry was a rookie mistake and he also lost the fight

I kinda understand where Jones was comign from in the fact that he's on PPV and wants to put on a good show and leave an impression, but it was still ******.

He won though, so it might have actually paid off for him in the end

That reminded me of Taylor Pavlik when Taylor had Kelly on the verge of a KO only to gas out and get KOed himself.
