It reminded me of the fight scene in Cool Hand Luke. Margo wouldnt give up. Personally I think his corner should have saved him from himself though and was suprised they didnt. I think it had more to do with Garcia not being with Margo too long and not wanting to be responsible for ending such a big fight against Margs wishes..

Never did I thiink a man could take that much punishment and flush shots from Pacquiao and not be dropped. Pacquiao might have eased up in the 12th, but he was trying to get Tony out of there for the first 11. I watched the fight again, and I am in awe. All of Pacquaios past opponents have been ktfo with far less punches.

if he wasnt a freaking super middleweight by fight night, that counter right hook by pac in the 9th round would have dropped him at the very least.

His showing off of his chin got him quite a few paydays. Large paydays even. Seeing as how many members of this forum love to spout off about "boxing is a business",

I don't think he did that bad at all considering most penned him as slow, plodding, unskilled and easy to beat.
The praise is because rarely do you see a man get hit that many times from a fighter of Pacquiaos stature and not go down.

Quit being a crybaby and just stay out of the thread if you're not feeling it.

The object is to win. Not to see how much punishment you can take. You can praise Margarito for standing up to a beating. But I'm sure that wasn't his goal. Other than that he showed almost nothing. I'm sure he would take a victory over what he took any day. Most already know he has a great chin.

Margarito certainly earned some redemption with me in that fight. I was highly critical of him after the Mosley fight but he showed unbelievable heart and determination in that ring. The number of times they tried to give him an easy way out with the fingers and his refusal to take it was incredible. That is more than trying to please the fans or make up for what he did, that is true warrior heart. I'm not sure there is anyone around in the sport with the stuff inside them that Antonio Margarito has.
