If floyd was 148 and marg was 165 I have floyd winning a split decision. It would be like the de la hoya floyd fight except margarito at 165 would have WAY more power and reach and height. Floyds only way of winning would be potshot, clinch, potshot, clinch.

If he traded with marg he would get ktfo, pac didnt clinch margarito once, mosley clinched margarito every chance he got. Pacs style would beat margaritos style every day of the week.

Manny ****ed Marg up by throwing his hands...letting his shots fly....Floyd doesn't have the MENTALITY to fight the way Manny does....they have 2 different visions of the fight game....Floyd is ALL about winning at ANY cost....Manny just wants to please the fans and throw blows with whoever....gotta love that in him

Floyd couldn't do what Manny and Shane did to Marg....with that said, it doesn't mean that Floyd wouldn't have his way against him.....I've learned ALOT over the years I've been a die-hard fan of this sport.....one of them is....styles make fights!!.....Shane looked GREAT against Marg....and shot against Floyd.....to hate Floyd is minor so I don't pick on Mr. UStream that often no more....to keep it really real....Manny won't be hittin' Floyd with over 50% of his power shots or walking in on str8 lines with no head movement.....a whole different beast that boy Floyd is so it would be kinda wise to NOT play COMPARE when it comes to this sport.....just because Floyd can't beat the dog **** outta Marg like Pac did or stop him like Shane did doesn't mean he wouldn't beat up on Manny or Shane....he shut my dude Shane down already.....can he do the SAME to Manny?!? ...a 50-50 fight IMO.....just wish they make it happen!!

the 8 million dollar payday to fight baldomir didn't exist when mayweather turned down margarito it only came after. he turned down a career high payday not to fight margarito. he wanted 10 million dollars to fight cotto who was still at 140? he knew his demands would never be met and that's exactly why he made them. sounds like a duck to me. if you need more evidence look what happened when cotto moved up to 147 and would have made floyd much more than 10 million. he refused to fight him and fake retired.

How about this...Mayweather DESTROYED the man..that DESTRYED Margarito.

Margarito is PLASTERLESS and ****ing washed up...this would be even more one-sided than the Baldomir fight.

If nobody has ever told you: STYLES MAKE FIGHTS. Frazier gave Ali trouble and Foreman lifted Frazier off the ground! A supposedly "Old" Ali, who many people thought would be seriously hurt by Foreman's bombs, managed to endure and roll with every shot and much to Dundee's disdain, Ali outsmarted George from the ropes.

Not trying to turn this into boxing 101 or anything, my point is simple. No, Floyd could not do that to Marg. Marg's face will likely look much better after a Floyd fight. Also, as I previously stated: the explosive punches from Manny (coming at angles that I didn't even know existed), tend to graze the face in such a way with such force that his opponent gets chopped up.

Mayweather vs Margarito Prediction: VERY slow first half of fight. Margarito trying to come forward with bombs and maybe even catching Floyd, assuming Margarito starts out fast that night. If he gets off to a slow start, there is no way I can see him beating Floyd. After 4 rounds, when Floyd sees what Margarito has, and where his punches are coming from, this fight will be over. Floyd's defense is better than Manny's ESPECIALLY against orthodox fighters with whom Manny USUALLY struggles.

I don't see Floyd stopping Margarito because nobody (except Shane Mosley) can seem to stop el tornado de tijuana. I don't think Marg wins more than 2 or 3 rounds against Floyd but he may win more than he did against Manny. If Marg catches Floyd clean in rounds 1-4, I believe he may win, but with Floyd's stamina and apparent obvious recovering ability after taking a huge bomb from one of the hardest punchers p4p in the sport, there is no guarantee that this will even be enough.

If Marg can somehow be ahead 2 points or so going into the 4th, he has a great shot. If not, we will see a BORING 1 sided fight between Mayweather and the battering ram (Marg) with Floyd winning a lopsided UD 117-111. May even be worse than that.
                  close thread..

ODLH is fast handspeed wise.....well he was. Margo i think ultimtely is too slow. Once Mayweather figures which angles he throws from i don't think Tony would land anything at all.

Mike Cassell: Well, let’s talk about the other guys, Like Antonio Margarito.

Larry Merchant: Who Mayweather didn’t want any part of, by the way.

Mike Cassell: Well that’s why I don’t think there should be a question of Mayweather coming back. I think he has to come back. There is such a large part of the welterweight division that he seems to have just ignored. Guys like Paul Williams, Antonio Margarito , and...

Larry Merchant: And Shane Mosley. But that’s how boxing fans and boxing writers see it. Fighters today are not just fighters. They are entrepreneurs. They make decisions based on money. Mayweather didn’t want any part of Margarito because he saw him as a bigger version of Castillo, who he had trouble with at lightweight. A very strong and very determined willful type of fighter
