On second thought, Puerto Ricans aren't even real boxing fans. They're just groupies for Puerto Rican boxers, they rarely even follow the sport.

like the mexican fans who praise a mediocre fighter as god because he is a mexican warrior yet don't seem to care that much about an actuall great mexican fighter in marquez

Just because I find most European fighters to be boring or **** doesn't mean I am pushing an American agenda. My two favorite fighters are from different countries(Cotto and JMM). Technically you're right though. Margarito is an American, which makes my blood boil just thinking about it.

This is a racist thread...Of course ricans like mexican fighters and vis versa. You think blacks support blacks, white support whites, asians support asians?? Of course people will naturally root for their home fighter to WIN IF they like that person.

But when it comes to boxing i dont think race is an issue with me. I wanted Margarito too whoop cotto, I wanted Paul WIlliams to whoop margarito, I wanted Pavlik to beat Taylor (Because I thought taylor was given too many fights) I wanted Hopkins to beat Pavlik.

Now I want Margarito to beat Pac and Martinez To KO williams...It all depends on who you want to win...nothing to do with race

I've always appreciated boxers from different eras and nationalities. In fact, Ray Mancini makes my top 5, and so do Duran and George Foreman. That being said, I was never a big fan of Margarito although I admired his "do or die" style. I watched his fights since he beat Antonio Diaz for the vacant WBO belt a few years back. I would not have considered myself a fan but I did appreciate the style.

One more thing, regardless of the plaster controversy, I think he has a good chance of making a big impression tonight, win or lose. It should be a very good fight.

I was a Margarito fan until the issue about his blocks!!I'm rather surprised that people still support him, what he did was unforgivable,IMO!!But since team Pacman & Arum actually got him this fight,I really hope he beats the brakes off of Pacman!!

Is there such a thing as a Mexican who doesn't have a man crush on PRs? PRs honesty don't care about Mexicans, but I can see Mexicans follow Puerto Ricans around in everything...its sad really.
