Wide looping punches vs Fast short straight punches

I think this will be one of the obvious stylistic situations we see tomorrow... I would have to favor the fast short straight punches down the pipe... coupled with the stamina to keep throwing them...

When Margarito gets in on Pacquiao... he will have to make his body punches count... then will need to be hard, they will need to hurt.

Pacquiao is not undefeatable, or incapable of being hurt, he is a human being, who feels pain and can get tired himself... Margarito HAS to make his body work count, and he HAS to slow Pac down.. otherwise Pacquiao is going to be throwing straight combinations down the center all night long right in between Margs wide shots.

As we saw in the Clottey fight... Margarito CAN put his own damage in on Pacquiao.. but it will come at an expense of his own...

Who can deal with the others offense the best?.. Because neither are a defensive wizard..

I still think it will all come down to Marg's chin. That will be the first aspect to be resolved. If Marg can take the heat he can apply pressure. If he can't.......

Tony throws a very good jab and straight right. This talk about looping punches being all he throws is a myth.

His inside game is better than Pac's who has no inside game, his defense is underrated and there will be nothing pac could do to hurt him imo. He stood up to flush shots from Mosley for almost 10 rounds before going down.

Pac is gonna get seriously hurt tomorrow.

He can't see a right hand to save his life, when he's not punching he just stands there with his earmuffs on and Tony's gonna rake him with uppers and hooks.

I expect nothing but ownage tomorrow from Tony.

        I agree....

We don't know what Margarito we are going to get..

The Cotto Margarito? Or the Mosley/Garcia Margarito?

When it comes to training and preperation, pictures and video... Margarito look excellent... but being in the ring with Pacquiao is different than hitting the double end bag, or sparring a fake wannabe Pacquiao...

I am hoping for the Cotto Margarito.. because that will ensure a bloodfest of epic proportions.

When it comes down to it... Margarito throws more looping punches than he throws straight punches, and Pacquiao throws more straight punches than looping punches.

Margarito has a long jab but it's generally not a hard jab, it's usually a push jab.. some are harder than others, but it certainly is no Quartey-esque style jab.. its more or less to interrupt your rythem.. which actually could be beneficial.

But he DOES throw a lot of looping punches... big over hand right, and big looping hooks to the body..

His inside game is pretty good, especially with the uppercut..

Margarito may have 'underrated' defense... but don't overrate it... He can be hit at will with the speed of Pacquiaos hands. He more or less throws his gloves in front of his face to block, head movement is subpar.

Pacquiao doesn't have great defense himself either.

              Like I've ever done that.

I'll be here if he wins or loses and I would NEVER badmouth Tony.

Go make a thread on how to properly season dog.
