if marquez looks good against kats then ill be ok with jmm and juanma fighting, but if he struggles or loses which is possible then i wouldn't give that fight the time of day. jmm will be 38 by then. however if they were to fight now i'm 100 percent positive jmm would tax that ass. it aint even close. if Rafa rocked juanma JMM will finish it easy. however i rather see juanma fight the guys in his weight division, i'm one of the few that wants to see juanma vs chris john.

I'm not sure I like the prospect of JMM moving down in weight again. I think the fight would be competetive. JuanMa has a big enough frame to fill out to a respectable lightweight and JMM, while past prime, will have proven he is still world class at the least by beating Katsidis. I'd favour JMM to put some hurt of JuanMa through counters and eventually knock him out.

That said, I'd prefer JuanMa stayed in his division and built his CV up properly instead of leaping head first into the big circus acts like this. I don't want him to get to the JuanMa 'Money' Lopez stage of his career so early when he still has so much to prove.

Juanma's kinda grown on me, but JMM is too much for him. He's too strong, too accurate, chin's too good, too much heart, too much skills. Even at 38.

Complete and utter waste of time! Gamboa, Cab, Elio, John...wtf! and then to top it off JMM trying to dictate terms when they should fight. Sure get it on, its an insignificant fight anyway but fight at the Mecca in NYC! why capitulate to his terms on his turf. Juanma getting called out by everybody. Time to step up, son!

                What a pathetic little coward.
If it makes you feel any better, I'd say Márquez wins.

He's probably fading, but we haven't seen him against a good puncher recently. Katsidis, while more crude than Juanma, should be a good measure to see how well Márquez can take a punch.

Márquez was buzzed by Díaz in the first fight, and Díaz isn't a monster puncher.

read the article. Juanma called out JMM. Juanma said that it would be a good fight in September. That is Juanma Lopez's quotes. JuanMa Marquez's 10th best win is better than Lopez's best win. Lopez doesn't have the resume to dictate anything let alone try to weight drain Marquez. They fight at 135 or it isn't happening. If Pac can jump two weight classes to fight De la Hoya or Hopkins can jump two weight classes to fight Tarver or Sonosa can jump two weight classes to fight for a pathetic paper vacant belt versus WV2 then Juanma Lopez can jump 2 weight classes to fight Marquez period.

Marquez's resume speaks for itself. Lopez at this point has what, a win over an over the hill former great in Rafa and a win over a decent champion in De Leon? He beat a mediocre Concepcion and mediocre champ in Luevano and almost lost to Mtagwa. What win that group would rate in Marquez's top 10 wins? ZERO! exactly!

that being said Top Rank wouldn't send Juanma up to get ko'd by a Golden Boy fighter.

I agree, but I dont think Lopez has the power to do anything against Marquez at 135.
