true enough, but any of the 140 lbs champions are a lot tougher than Juanma. if you look at the risks vs. reward, a fight w/ juanma is less riskier and w/ a decent reward.

Plus I doubt Marquez would be willing to go down.
I think JMM might be able to make 130 lbs. he is not a big 135 lber anyways. if anything, he can fight juanma at a catchweight... maybe 133-132.

The Morales fight seems very exciting.
    uh... no it doesn't.

At 5' 5" he's pretty short for the average Lightweight. I think he would lose a lot of power[or those bigger guys would take his punch better than the smaller 126ers] by going up to 135 unless he takes Ariza's Special Shake.

Fine I give you that Morales vs JMM isn't really that exciting. However, why would Marquez fight at a catchweight when the one challenging the Lightweight champion is Lopez? At this point, I think Marquez would rather take on a champion at 140 regardless of risk. He doesn't lose anything if he loses and gains a lot if he wins. If he loses, he lost to the best 140 pounder while take a big purse maybe for retirement. If Lopez wants to fight Marquez let him challenge him at 135. Why would you even consider a catchweight.

you've proven yourself as a sensible poster... green K coming up...

However, why would Marquez fight at a catchweight when the one challenging the Lightweight champion is Lopez?
cause lopez is a featherweight and JMM doesn't want to seem like he's cherrypicking featherweights. in the interests of making the fight more fair and competitive, jmm might want to offer jml a catchweight, seeing as jml is asking for the fight at 130 lbs.

I honestly believe that JMM can still make 130 lbs but not easily (hence the catchweight). JMM is a small 135 lber.

At this point, I think Marquez would rather take on a champion at 140 regardless of risk. He doesn't lose anything if he loses and gains a lot if he wins. If he loses, he lost to the best 140 pounder while take a big purse maybe for retirement.
Then why didn't JMM fight Khan???!!! It's obvious that JMM don't want none of that action at 140 lbs... atleast not against anyone nearly as good as Khan/Bradley/Alexander and maybe even maidana.

If Lopez wants to fight Marquez let him challenge him at 135. Why would you even consider a catchweight.
like I said, JML is a featherweight. I'm convinced JMM can win this fight and collect a big check. the catchweight is just to entice JML to get in the ring. you have to give a little to get alot.

bradley is muscular for his height.

hatton is bulky for his height as well.

                  Pac is just a beast.

JMM has a smaller frame than all of them. he doesn't belong above 135 lbs.
