The amount of tickets sold and the amount of people in the building that night are a completely different thing. People talk about Clottley/Pac having 51,000 people at Cowboy stadium for their fight, but the truth is that the paid attendance for the fight was actually 36,000 with the rest being comps.
How Many Tickets Have Been Sold For Pac vs Tony????

No. HBO said it did 51,000 during the telecast. Espn even confirmed it.The amount of tickets sold and the amount of people in the building that night are a completely different thing. The fight was rewarded with a paid crowd of 36,371 and a gate of $6,359,985, according to post-fight tax reports filed with Texas boxing regulators. Counting complimentary tickets delivered to sponsors, media outlets and others, the Dallas fight attracted 41,843, well short of the 50,994 that was previously announced, but still an epic number for boxing. In addition, the bout drew 700,000 pay-per-view buys and earned $35.3 million in domestic revenue.Comment

I'm a ****ing ******? Before insulting people, try to check up on the actual facts of something. HBO and ESPN? Boxing cable networks/promoters? Well done mate. You get the NSB 'Typical Poster' award!
Christ.... the people around here. Once again for the slow ones, they did not sell 50K. They sold 36,000 tickets and gave away another 5K.Last edited by BennyST; 11-11-2010, 08:55 AM.Comment

No ones pissed off. What I'm just stunned about is that it has been factually reported and stated that the incorrect number of 51,000 was a complete lie. It was made up by boxing media. The actual independent sources who did the numbers for all sold tickets was clocked at 36,371 from the tax records of Texas Boxing Regulators. You can't fake that ****. HBO and Arum reported 51,000. HBO and Arum. Yes, the boxing cable network in line with Arum ads promoter. They said 51,000 and then when it was researched by independent reporters it was found to only be 36K.
It's not hard to understand.
It keeps getting reported by boxing networks and people aligned with Arum that it did 51K and it's well and truly gone past the point where it should have been dismissed because that's not how many they sold.

Where's Mr David when you need him? Oh well....It's easier to believe **** by HBO and Arum when it lines up with what you want.Last edited by BennyST; 11-11-2010, 09:16 AM.Comment
