Valuev was supposed to fight Ruiz I thought. Why the sudden change?

Anyway, I still don't think too much of Valuev as he's very slow, has next to none defense and still armpunches. He should get exposed soon.
Well, this is a big step up in his competition. Lets see how he handles Donald. Then he should move on to guys like Johnson, Barrett, Whitalker, McCline, Samil Sam, etc. There are a whole lot of C level fighters to choose from

donald has a very big chance boxing wise.........although if the fight is controlled (in germany) then his chances drop substantially........

donald doesn't have a KO punch, thus rendering himself subject to the judges decision, which no matter what, will be in his opponents favour.

being in germany furthermore means that valuev will be allowed to do everything from the illegal book..............as he has done with many other opponents.

Donald doesn't have a chance at anything. We all new Evander was finished when he had problems in the Ruiz fights. He even had problems with Vaughn Bean. Evander I dont think has had a great showing since stoping Micheal Moorer in the second fight back in 97. I hope Evander hangs up his gloves. I dont think Donald can beat Brewster and I dont see Brewster unifying the titles. VK will be the man for awhile thank god for other divisions.

?? Valuev is actually a very fair fighter. I don't remember seing him doing anything illegal in the ring.

My prediction is a KO win for valuev where Donald in the first couple of rounds seems to do okay but will tire significantly in the middle ones due to the size of his opponent where valuev then will knock him out.

It only took Valuev around 9 years to face a name opponent.

Larry Donald will give him problems....but doesn't have the fire power to take him out. Valuev will wear him down & stop him late.

Larry Donald.....a man who has never been in a fight worth watching twice.
Valuev....a freak of nature, who needed a full decade to learn how to fight well enough to be put in with some comp.

Combine that with the trash that took place this past weekend, & it baffles me that there are fans of this crudball division.
Heavyweight boxing is a separate sport from the actual sport of boxing.

True the heavyweight scene is not the most exciting division at the moment. But it has one draw that no other division has and that is the fact that the heavyweight champ can claim he is the best in the world amongst all divisions because he is in the only division everybody can choose to fight at. Even the best and most excinting fighers like PBF, Hopkins, Winky, Morales, Barrera and so on would not be able to win against any of the current heavyweight champs. They would simply be mauled if they choose to fight at heavyweight and that will always be the draw of the heavyweight division that only the biggest and the strongest can compete there.

Agreed. All I ask for is three good superstars and I'll start watching heavyweight boxing again, like a Pac, Morales, Barrera kind of thing.. But that's alot to ask for nowadays.

Well...it's not drawing what it used to, & that's because the level of quality is way below what it was years back.

I love seeing boxing done well, & in exciting fashion. That makes me a boxing fan. I have always been perplexed by people just wanting to see it done by the biggest bodies possible, even when it's done poorly.
Bigger is worse, not better, in boxing. It's been proven.
