Fake wrestling gets higher ratings than the NBA, Golf, Hockey.

Its the number one cable franchise of all time. It just passed the show Gunsmoke as the longest series ever.

As I boxing fan, Im not even considering a fight that could end in one round when Im ordering it. Ordering those Tyson fights I knew would end early never scared me away from ordering his fights. I just want to see the fight and try not to think about a one round fight. In fact I dont even think about it.

Boxing will do much better if they show it on ABC or NBC on Friday nights again or on Saturday nights! they can bring a ton of revenue and do something that can revolutionize the sport again and bring it back to the olden days when familys used to sit every friday with their kids and watch a fight!

True but you know how people are, at my work people always say "I dished out 50 bones for that oscar vs hopkins fight and no one threw a damn punch! what a waste of ****ing money" or "man I paid money for this fight and the guy who was supposed to win got knockout in the first round what a waste"

People really dont wanna dish out money for something that is not assured, they dont wanna take a gamble because they want their moneys worth they dont wanna feel jooped.

How can they bring boxing back to network tV and when I say boxing I mean big fights, they did it in the 80s with tyson a couple times.

Thats true and I gotta be honest about something, my PPVs were either stolen back in the day with the box, my uncle ordered it, or my church ordered it. I havent paid for one PPV I've seen so I can't understand the pissed guy at the watercooler Monday morning.

                  several reasons:

                  1. bull**** decisions drive away fans.
                  2. too many boring fights.
                  3. NO SUPERSTARS.
                  4. PBF is the perfect example of what drives away fans: loud, arrogant, immature, whiny, boring to watch, no sense of humor, and very little marketability to the public.
                  5. 3 fights a year for each boxer (if ur lucky).
                  6. too many belts and organizations.
                  7. no big fights on cable TV (too much PPV).
                  8. Don King... nuf said.
                  9. too much hype, too little action.
                  10. no more mike tyson-like fighters (sam peter is nowhere near as appealing as mike).
                  11. too many squabbles over money.
                  12. NOT ENOUGH KNOCKOUTS!!!
                  13. too many upsets.
                  14. not enough dream matches.
                  15. not enough wars.
                  16. all talk and no walk fighters.
                  17. too much time to hype/prepare for fight.
                  18. too many fighters rest on their laurels.
                  19. boxing schedule is too wide (meaning not enough fights in a certain amount of time).
                  20. not enough unifications matches.

one of my teachers said "i think boxing's rigged." i said "it is."

boxing needs to prove me and her wrong.

Even if it doesnt end in one round, whose Peden? What has he done to warrant a PPV match/challenge? Its these PPV guys and fighters who think they can fight whoever they want that also hurts boxing. Like Vitali charging us to see him spar with Danny Williams. I would debate watching it if it was on HBO and buying it was out of the question.

WWE programming is now a monthly commercial for their PPVs - lots of hype. You never see boxing press conferences on regular TV in their entirety.

There's no KO in the first minute of a fight in WWE or a no contest due to a head-butt,etc.; there's always 6-8 fights - you know you're going to have action all 2 hrs. and 45 minutes - the characters are recognizable and on TV every week, not twice a year.

Plus, if there's a bad decision or cheating involved, you know it will be resolved the next night or at the next PPV - it won't go unpunished, because it's part of the storyline...

Also the wrestlers pull out their best spots for big matches - and sell for each other. It takes cooperation to put on a good show. John Ruiz, Bernard Hopkins, Winky Wright, Robin Reid could not be WWE stars. They're not exciting enough to watch...

                      But...

Wrestling buyrates are down now, too. So is live attendance...But that's another thread...
