I saw what his promoter said but I don't take too highly on what promoters have to say, they are not trustworthy and they say only what is to the convenience of their situation I'd rather hear it from the fighter himself and not "times in the past" I'm talking about the fighter addressing it currently.Comment

Given that Haye, K2, Steward, and both Klitschkos have all said the same thing, why do you disagree with all of them? Are you saying that you know more about it than any of them do?Comment

"The reason [that Haye turned the 50/50 deal down] being, he's [i.e. Wlad's] tied into a TV contract. He's got a multi-fight deal with RTL, a German television network. I know there's more money to be had in Germany because I've been talking to the television networks and there's more money to be had," Haye said. "He's not willing to put the maximum from his territory into the pot. I'm doing that. He's not doing that and that's totally unacceptable for me."Comment

Are you accusing Haye of lying about that then? He claims there are much better deals available from other German TV channels and that that is why he turned down 50/50 unless Wlad first ditches his RTL contract and signs a better contract. His exact words were:
"The reason [that Haye turned the 50/50 deal down] being, he's [i.e. Wlad's] tied into a TV contract. He's got a multi-fight deal with RTL, a German television network. I know there's more money to be had in Germany because I've been talking to the television networks and there's more money to be had," Haye said. Haye can make far more money by fighting Audley first. It's a no risk, very high reward fight. The 50/50 deal to fight a Klitschko will still be on the table in 2011. But when he fights a Klitschko and gets beaten, his gravy train will end and he will have to retire.
The reason he gave:
He claims that Wlad's TV deal with RTL is not the best German TV deal that was on offer (which is true, because Wlad has rejected going down the PPV route in Germany); and says that because the size of the pie is smaller than it need be, Haye should get well over 50% of the total pie.
His exact words were:
"If you give me 50% MAXIMUM of all of the territories [i.e. if Wlad were to renege on his TV contract with RTL and sign a more lucrative contract with a satellite PPV provider], of all the ticket sales....the fight is going to happen. He didn't want that to happen. The reason being, he's tied into a TV contract. He's got a multi-fight deal with RTL, a German television network. I know there's more money to be had in Germany because I've been talking to the television networks and there's more money to be had," Haye said. "He's not willing to put the maximum from his territory into the pot. I'm doing that. He's not doing that and that's totally unacceptable for me.""Comment

Now they are tied into a contract they can't do **** until it runs out. They didn't choose to fight for less money so more people could see them, like you claimed.

In any case, since Haye hasn't had any communication of any sort with the Klitschkos since May, why would you imagine that anything about the deal could have changed since May? Wlad has said repeatedly since May that there is no rematch clause on the table. And there have not only been no negotiations since May, but no contact of any sort.Last edited by Dave Rado; 11-09-2010, 07:09 PM.Comment

Given that they specifically said that they didn't want to go down the non-terrestrial or PPV routes, what hard evidence have you got for your claim that they lied about that? And given that Haye specifically said they could still get a better deal NOW than they are getting now if they wanted to ("He didn't want that to happen"), why aren't you calling him a liar, if you disagree with him?Last edited by Dave Rado; 11-09-2010, 07:05 PM.Comment
