I watch this forum a lot, I don't often post anymore because I cannot be bothered with the keyboard warriors and nuthuggers who start an argument with every single point anyone tries to make... anyway here goes :-)

I don't see why people find this so hard to understand.

The more this fight is hyped, the more money it makes. David Haye is not afraid of the Klitschko brothers. However, the longer he puts off the fight, the more money he makes. It is simple. If he wants to retire in 1 year, and start an acting career or whatever bull**** he has said, then he needs to make as much money as possible as quickly as possible. I don't pretend to understand contracts and finances.. but if David Haye can make a few million by getting in the ring with Audley Harrison then fair enough. Well done, take the money. He's got a family and a future to look after.

We can go on and on about the whole contract saga, and the fact that Haye signed a worse deal then pulled out. Setanta Sports went under at the same time, maybe that had a big influence on the fight being pulled. Who knows?

After Haye takes care of Audley, then he says he will fight a Klitschko. The fight will make more money PPV than it would of 2 years ago. Why? Because the fight with Audley will make the non-boxing fan British public sit up and take notice. It's being billed as a personal "best of enemies" fight in the UK and people buy that. After this fight there will be a hell of a lot more people interested in Haye v klitschko. Simple. I wouldn't be suprised if this whole thing is a marketing masterplan and both parties are involved. If after this fight, the haye klitschko fight can't be made, then that would be a tragedy because it really is an exciting heavyweight clash. The first one in years.

Anyway.. lets hope Audley doesn't catch Haye with a big left hand lol

but that article is OLDER than the one this thread is about, even still he didn't completely break down everything nor get into deep details like Haye did.

Not to bring Floyd and Manny into this but Wladimir might very well be doing what Pacquiao is doing to Floyd, KNOWING that Floyd wont accept anything less than what he asked for and Pacquiao coming up with all sorts of other offers and **** which if it IS the case I can understand Haye telling them to **** off.

Just because the Klitschko's are on top doesn't mean Haye should whore himself for them, he should have a standard deal he shouldn't be contractually forced to fight both of them in 1 contract.

If Haye fought 1 and won and then AFTER beating 1 already you have to be bound down by contract for 2 more fights that could be against the other brother not even the one you beat, that's horse ****. I speak this way in the interest of fairness because I feel it's only right it's viewed in that light

he just said that in the article in this thread, he's claiming that and the Klitschko brothers are not denying it so why is it that only Haye is the one lying? have they come out and have they gotten as specific as Haye has in regards to the contract stipulations? Boxers don't just walk around scared of each other you feel me, there has to be more that we don't know about

Haye admitted in May that he was offered a straight 50/50 deal with no rematch clauses to fight Wlad this year and turned it down. The rematch clause deal was on the table in 2009 before he held a world title. It's normal for a title holder to have a rematch clause when having a voluntary defence, as was the case in 2009, but is not normal in the case of unifications, which is why Wlad dropped the rematch demand in the 2010 negotiations.

Haye is now being disingenious by pretending that the 2009 deal is still on the table when it isn't. The reason he's doing that is that he doesn't want to look like the ducker he is.

As for why he's ducking, it's obvious - he's building up his pension. He is making $10 million in a zero risk fight against a journeyman, Audley Harrison. Prior to that, he made a lot of money against a shot Ruiz and a painfully slow Valuev, and the 50/50 deal to fight either Klitschko will stay on the table until he fights one of them, so from a purely financial standpoint, he has nothing to lose and everything to gain by spinning it out for as long as possible. He knows he'll almost certainly lose to either K bro and is milking the situation in order to earn as much money as he can before he fights one of them. But he's doing it by lying, and misleading the public, and most boxing journalists, who should know better, are failing to call him on it, and that's disgusting.
