    Juanma's Point Deduction

Did anybody else notice that referee Weeks conveniently stopped the action to deduct a point from Lopez at a moment in which Juanma was about to get KTFO??!! Maybe I'm missing a thread but I thought for sure somebody would post about this.

    Lopez got a lucky breather.

Larry Merchant always complains about this.... he always argues that if the fighter offended isnt hurt, let them keep fighting and take the point at the end of the round

and i think its a valid point

Well there is another side to this equation that you forgot to mention!!Everytime Weeks called for them to break,Marquez always threw,he wasn't warned for throwing after the break even once,or did you not clearly see that??

        that is true..

but also, not only did Marquez throw when Weeks were breaking them up,
but also, everytime they clinched it was Juanma that got the warning. Marquez didnt act like an angel himself.

I thought the point deduction was bull **** to begin with. Not because Juanma was hurt but just because it wasn't deserved. Rafa continued to dip and that is why he was getting held down, it was accidental. The only time I had a problem with what Juanma was doing was during one round when he held Marquez down on purpose and blistered him with 3 heavy shots. Weeks seemed to be all over Juanma last night.

I clearly saw the entirety of the fight. Nowhere in my post did I claim that Rafa was guilty of no wrongdoing. I was merely commenting on one aspect of this fight.

I understand that, but as a whole fight,Juanma didn't catch a break from the ref,Marquez did!!A point was deducted from Juanma,in a round he lost, that's 10-8,there is no way that helped him IMO!!

Again, I never claimed Marquez to be an "angel." Sure there are two sides to every story, but halting the action at a specific time when one fighter is obviously hurt and hanging on is a MAJOR issue. If Rafa is fouling, take a point away from him, too.

Stop taking the drugs you are taking as you are having ILLUSSIONS. LOPEZ NEVER WOBBLED OR WENT DOWN. IN FACT, THE ONE PUNCH THAT BRIEFLY STAGGERED HIM WAS ABOUT 40 SECONDS BEFORE THE DEDUCTION.

I saw a replay this morning, Lopez pounced his gloves and kept fighting. Marquez got MURDERED plain and simple, In fact he kept landing that same overhand right and Lopez ate the punches, he couldnt hurt Lopez who was this "glass chin" guy.

Lopez is now 11-0 against Mexicans, a difficult pill for some to swallow but that's life.
