Agreed and true about the what the say about the wars of Rafa but we need to also consider that Marquez has 44 fights in 15 years at an avg of 4-5 rounds per fight and although I fully understand that the wear and tear of the wars he faces (especially with Vazquez) is never fully recovered he has only fought 24 rounds since August of 2007 and only 6 rounds since May of 2009, so he has taken care of himself and not abused his body in the last years.Comment

Powerful forces have Juanma, and they are selecting fighters for him, like Rafeal Marquez after his biggest win, and Gamboa, an other top prospect Olympic gold medalists. Its a conspricy !! That they dont want Cab !!

yea, i think it might be a little overblown. i guess we will see tonightAgreed and true about the what the say about the wars of Rafa but we need to also consider that Marquez has 44 fights in 15 years at an avg of 4-5 rounds per fight and although I fully understand that the wear and tear of the wars he faces (especially with Vazquez) is never fully recovered he has only fought 24 rounds since August of 2007 and only 6 rounds since May of 2009, so he has taken care of himself and not abused his body in the last years.
what pisses me off is that jeff got thrown out of the weigh in before he could get my tickets! oh well, after this i will have credentials.Comment

Yeah, I can't say I know any details of Juanma's contract, but we all have a pretty good read on how Top Rank does business by now. We do have a couple of great boxing months to look forward to, which is a great reason for me to stay positive.i have no idea what the contract juanma has is, but in cabas case, he had an opt out option if dibella couldnt get him a fight after so many months. in fact, that is why you have caba's fight with litzau now. dibella had to get something. i would have to think that juanma has to have a similar deal. no way you can let someone shut you down in your prime.
and i think people like arum who are supposed to be so smart about money are actually what is costing fighters money. the public has turned from boxing because greedy promoters like arum dont give fans what they want. so the public quit caring. arum cares about arum. nobody else. and people like him are killing the sport. phoney matches that are made to build resumes have made nobody careComment

as has been mentioned, they feel marquez has sufficiently declined at this point. as for gamboa, arum doesnt care. no risk because either way he still has the belt. juanma fights caba and there is a great chance he loses controlComment

yea, finally. i was a prime example though. it wasnt until i befriended pelenchin that i got back into boxing. i havent cared for years. i grew up with hagler-hearns, hagler-leonard, and all those great fights of that era. i went to mma when all i got from boxing was carefully picked fights for any of 47 different titles. boxing has serious issues and guys like arum have killed it. people dont gravitate towards juanma the business man. they want to see fighters, not businessmen.Comment
